I just got out of a 7 year relationship, and I want to spread my wings. Usually girls arent the ones to initiate dating someone they have interest in, but I am not afrid. How should I approach someone that I am interested in, but he is not the same race as me? (Not trying to sound simple minded) But how do you know that they arent against inter-racial dating? Should I be nervous?

You approach them like you would anyone else. People are still people, but just with different skin colors.

Actually, many girls are initiating new relationships these days. If you wait on these bashful boys, you might end up staying home by yourself.

Colour is only "skin deep." You're obviously interested in character and personality.
You would approach a person of colour in the same way as you would any other guy. If any of your friends express racial overtones, make it clear that you are colour-blind and choose your friends by whether they are nice people or not. If your focus is on race, you'll be nervous, but if you just like the guy, be normal and ask him out. You can only ask him out. You've got a 50/50 chance of a positive response. Be bold. Take the first step.

Being against inter-racial dating should be seen as a preference. Some people may or may not like blonds, talkative girls, silent girls, funny girls. etc. The same thing goes for interracial dating. It's choice, a part of who you are.

A lot of people go out in groups. Ask him to go out with you to an activity where several mutual acquaintances are going to be there as well.

I live in Toronto, the largest multicultural community in the world. Starting in high school, there is a lot of mixed dating. Here, it's normal. Nobody thinks anything of it.

As you spend time around him try to see if there's chemistry. If so, look at him in a way that says you're interested. If you ever end up in a conversation, feel him out for his views on dating outside of his race.

How about this world forgets about color and race and treat each other as humans who look different? Imagine what a better and safer world this would be ???

Race shouldn't matter. Trust me I'm the minority at my school.
