I've been with my dude for a long time. I love him and he loves me. We always have a great time together and he treats me good. But my mom don't like him at all. She's always saying that he's bad, that i deserve better and that I should get back with my ex-boyfriend. She's just getting on my nerves. So what can i do to get my mom off my back???

As a fellow daughter; my mother is the same way. She always seemed to like the ex boyfriends that aren't available any more and not my current boyfriend. She even set me up with my ex boyfriend by giving my current phone number to him. The thing I did to get through to my mother is that I told her my love life is MINE not HERS. Even if she thought some man was "the one" vs my current boyfriend and always found fault with the current boyfriend I reassured her that I go for the quality type of guy and not the bad boy. The main thing is to tell your mother is that your current boyfriend treats you right and you like being with him and as long as you are happy that is all the matters and not her approval stamp.

moms will never back off no matter how old u are. any bf i have she says only negative things about. it got too far where my bf heard everything she said and now he refuses to come over while she is there. it sucks but its a huge misunderstanding. if u know the guy is good for u then i would try not to let her bug u, just ignore it and try not to let it ruin ure relationship with him or with ure mom

Your mom has a right to be on your back, it's all part of growing up. Yes, we have allo been through this. My mom was terrible...called me a slut for dating. Not fun. In the end, whether they mean to hurt us or not, they think that they are doing what is best for us. All you can do is deal with her the best you can. It is what it is.

My Mom's the same way....she likes my man now...Is your mom latin? mine is and she drives me crazy sometimes...is this guy trouble? Now look past everything and try to be true and honest...moms are usually right (hate to admit it) but it's true. What was so great about your ex????? how long is a long time? Are you serious aabout this guy?

i think that it has to do with the fact that ur mom doesnt really want to see you with like a different guy, could be that she got used to ur old boyfriend and the thought of u with another guy like worries her. doesnt really want to think of her daughter being with like all these different types of guys.
