I don't want to trade in my IROC, because I have modified it so much to be that fast. I've cracked 136 mph on the highway. My wife is trying to still my soul. Please help.

Get her the minivan, and keep your car.

... and have her drive the mini while you rest in the back.

Sort of sounds like you need a mini van if you like sleeping in the same house as your wife. Find her a good one at a good price. Is your IROC paid off? If it is, buy her a mini van. If not, trade it in. You can always get another one later on when you have the available funds. Perhaps she's afraid you'll kill yourself with your driving habits. Besides, the difference in tickets and insurance will more than make up for some of the costs of buying the minivan...Who cares about how fast it goes, anyway? You'll find yourself loving the extra room to carry stuff, camp out, PARK AND NECK (and it better be with her, according to her, right?)....

It's like this...she wants a minivan...you want to keep your car. Relationships are give and take. I think if I was in your shoes...I'd get her the minivan...and I'd suffer the payments...but if you love your car that much...then keep it. If she loves you...then she wouldn't ask you to get rid of something you value so much. It's not about the car over what she wants....it's about you both having what you want. So get a loan if you must...get the mini...and keep your car.

I think if it was me and my wife asked me to get rid of something I treasured just to satisfy what she wants...then perhaps I'd be rethinking the relationship all together. By the way...still got my truck...don't have a wife anymore.

Buy the minivan and keep the IROC as a weekend car. Use the van as a daily driver, and that way you will not wear out the other car!!

Get a Toyota Minivan. Gasoline is to high to waste.
