Call several salons and ask for a consultation. Make sure you ask if they charge or not. Doesn't mean anything other than more money from u if they do. You want to find someone who knows how to texture from the inside of the hair with a razor. This is very difficult and you need to make sure they know what they are doing. They would also have to know how to razor cut to know how to do this technique. They should also know how to layer with a razor too. You don't need to have a razor layer cut necessarily though. If your hair frizzes easily then you may want a shear cut and then texturize with a razor...it just depends on your hair. It's hard to say without knowing your hair. Go see a professional, but look for those things I mentioned and see if you feel comfy with the stylist. She should look at you and give you some good ideas. Make sure you are on the same page. Good luck and God bless.

Me too!

Firstly, I'm not sure WHY you want it really thin... because most people with really thin hair wish it was thicker. But I feel your pain! It really depends on the length of your hair. Layering isn't always an option, although it can lighten up. If you have naturally wavy hair, layering can make it go really bouffy and curly (My hair is almost all the same length for this reason).

The thing to do is go to a REALLY good hairdresser for a consultation. And get a really good cut. Usually they can use things called "thinning scissors" which are like scissors which only cut half the hair. They can cut in layers this way, and it just means that the hair is thinner. If you keep the ends trimmed it will make the hair appear healthier and more under control, as well.

If you have wavy hair, sometimes using a good quality ceramic straightener can make it seem more silky and shiny. Watch out for over heating it though... this can frizz and wreck it. But it's worth the effort for special occasions (takes too long on a regular day for me though!)

Secondly, get some good hair-product. Thick hair is often coarse (again, mine is). Use a gentle shampoo, and a heavy duty conditioner (that nourishes the hair, not that just coats it in silicones to make it shine - like Pantene does >.<).

And thirdly, think how lucky you are to have a problem that most people would kill for!

I have thick hair and depending on how it is layered, it can actually look worse. If you find a good hair stylist that knows how to thin it without over doing it, that may work. And if you get it layered, it is best to get gradual layers and not too short.

A good product that helps thick hair look smoother and thinner is made by Paul Mitchell.

What ever you prefer... You can go to a beauty salon and ask for them to thin it out and they'll do it for you, or you can get layers. It's whatever you prefer more than anything. If you decide to get layers and like to put your hair up w/out hair falling in your face, then ask for longer layers, but if you don't care, then just let them cut away. :)

My hair is also thick. You can get it thin with a thinning shears. Also layering your hair helps. Ask any beauty salon stylists. I have my hair layered, but I do not have it thinned.

I even have dark brown thick hair of course. whilst it somewhat is dark brown it seems wholesome, vibrant, and appears like I even have much less hair & thinner. Thats only an phantasm, sort of like once you place on black clothing, you seem thinner. when I get somewhat blonde highlights throughout, it seems somewhat thick, broken, and appears like I actually have a ton of hair and you are able to see each layer and perspective. a million.) dark brown skinny hair doesnt seem undesirable. 2.) dark hair wont somewhat make your hair seem thicker in case you have skinny hair first of all. There are alot of things obtainable to make your hair seem extra volumized including shampoos. additionally be sure you're taking a diet prevalent and consume perfect food. Your hair gets extra healthy.
