It will only say you are preggo if you are. I got pregnant while on the pill and it told me I was. I am paranoid now, so I just recenlty took another test but it came out negative. So there u go... both ways.

The chances of having a false positive on a pregnancy test is almost non-existant as it is testing for a hormone that is made onlyh when pregnant. This is not something that is within any type of birth control that I know about, so if the test came out positive, consider yourself pregnant and go to the doctor... soon. I'm 37 weeks along and was on birth control when I got pregnant (and my husband has a "low count" - its quite possible to get pregnant on any type of birth control outside of abstinence)

No. Pregnancy tests only detect the hormone produced when you are pg. If you got a positive test then your are more than likely pg. Remember bcps are not 100% even if you take them every day. I've conceived 2 of my kids on the pill. Call your dr to get a blood test and stop taking the pills and use something else until you get a test from your dr.

Yes, it's a false positive. HPTs detect levels of the HCG hormone. This hormone is only produced when you become pregnant. It is possible to get a false positive so I would recommend taking another test tomorrow. Keep in mind, just because you're on the Pill, you can still become pregnant. If you get another positive test, visit your doctor for a blood test. Best wishes!

I don't see how being on birth control would change the outcome on the test.
I've included a favorite site for everything you ever wanted to know about pregnancy tests. I'm sure she has the answer there!

I think some birth contols do interfere with home pregnancy tests, You should go into the doctor and have them do a blood test to check for pregnancy and they will do a more thorough urine test too. I hope you get the result you want. Good luck!

Birth control works by tricking the body into thinking that you are already pregnant. So if it will be a false positive or by small chance you are pregnant.

Birth control really has nothing to do with it...
but yes, there is a chance of getting a false positive. It is very rare, but it does happen.

Nope if the test say's positive it means you are, I guess the pills didn't work out for you. The pills can't change the out come of the test that way.
