I am curious, if you have cheated on someone why did you do it (or not just break up)...If you have been tempted to cheat, or given an opportunity, why did you stay true?

In 20 years of marriage, I have never strayed.
My job used to require a great deal of travel. I could have cheated on my wife any number of times. I am sure she would never have learned of it.
The problem is that even if I had gotten away with it, would have known that I was a cheater, that I had betrayed our vows, and that I had failed to keep my promises. Who would want to carry that around?

I've been cheated on and I've cheated. I just naturally tend to be polyamorous....
I'm not saying this is a good way of going about it, though. Even in polyamorous "open" relationships, honesty is key....
In fact, cheating is pretty terrible -- but only because it's deceitful. There's nothing wrong with having multiple partners -- in fact, I prefer it.
When I cheated, it was an expression of that desire. When I actually did it, I liked the rush of "doing what I want", but later felt guilty & terrible. Plus I hated having to lie.
I like having a REAL stable relationship, a soul-mate... and then many sexual close friendships too. I love to love. I love to love many. And I'm okay with them loving many, too. :)
The truth is, many people feel this way, but people allow themselves to get stuck in a society that mostly favors monogamy and looks down upon polyamory.....
I only wish I had been more honest about my needs when I began the relationship.

I was given the oppurtunity, but i turned it down. The reason I chose that was becuase of my own morals, I would rather break up than cheat

i asked a similar wustion but i decidded not to cheat i just love my boyfriend too much to do something lika that to him, If ou want to sleep with someone else just break up and if iyou are menti to be with your gf youll get back together.
i decided not to cheat cuz i could imagine my life without my bf and if i can decide wther to hurt him or not i decide not to hurt him

cheating is very dishonest and if you dont like somebody ur dating u should dump them and move on
