It goes to the spirit world.

The word "spirit" in the bible refers to the spirit of life that was first breathed into Adam. The spirit goes to heaven, "into your hands I commit my spirit".

The word "soul" as used in the bible refers specifically to the combination of spirit and body, any living being is a soul. The soul ceases to exist after death until the resurrection.

The word "body" as used in the bible is synonymous with flesh meaning the tissues of a creation. It is not considered alive on its own. When the spirit departs from the body, it decomposes and is gone "dust to dust". A new body will be given to each spirit of man at the resurrection.

The spirit is not the soul;

The spirit that we had which was dead unto God, is gone, and the new spirit which we received at salvation, is righteous, truly holy, and perfect. It is actually the same spirit that we will have throughout all eternity. It will not be changed or improved upon. The flesh part will be changed, but our spirit salvation is complete. Colossians 1:12 says that we have (past tense) been made meet (fit or able) to partake of the inheritance of the saints. In our spirits, we are now overcomers, and the rest of the Christian life, stated very simply, is renewing the soul and body to that truth. Romans 12:2 says it this way, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Paul didn't pray that they would receive some new thing from God, but rather that they would renew their minds and prove (or make manifest to the physical senses) what was already there. God did not change us only in principle at the new birth, but we are now, in our spirits, a totally new creation. But until we first realize this and then act on it in faith, the devil will continue to oppress us. The first step in faith is knowledge. Romans 10:14 says, "How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?" and verse 17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Ignorance of who we are in our spirits has made it impossible for us to act in faith accordingly.

The word “soul” is defined by some as your mind, will, and emotions, and while that’s certainly true, it’s incomplete. Your “conscience” should also be included in that definition. Your soul is really what most people call their personalities.

God’s Word clearly teaches that we are three-part beings, but
very few Christians have a functional understanding of spirit, soul, and body in their daily lives. Intellectually, most Christians believe they’re a three-part being, but functionally, they act as though they’re only made up of body and soul. They’re confused about the operation of the soul and spirit, seeing them basically as the same thing.“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

He meant that there’s no direct connection between the two. They are interrelated, but spirit is spirit and flesh is flesh. You simply cannot contact your spirit through your five senses or through your mind, will, or emotions. Therein lies one of the great problems of the Christian life!

If you don’t understand that spiritual reality can’t be felt, then you’ll be confused when God’s Word declares that you have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living in you (Eph. 1:18-20).

Soul and Spirit are synonymous words for the same thing. Dont get confused by word games.

Odds are your soul is going to Hell and not to Heaven. Most people do not do the one and only thing that Christ says you need to do to get into heaven - BE NICE TO EVERYONE.

That's it. You dont even have to believe in him. Just follow that one rule and you get into heaven. I dont know a single person that will fit that rule. Especially not most "Christians" with their agenda to kill every gay and lesbian person they meet and condemn hookers and prostitutes to death and wanting to kill all Muslims all over the world - nobody is going to Heaven.

And man became a living soul.
I don't think the soul can exist alone; it's a combination of the body and spirit.
