Let me explain, It's been so hard for me and my boyfriend to spend time together anymore. We have such difficult schedules: He goes to work full time and I work part time and go to school full-time. I sometimes feel terrible because we hardly talk like we used to. We've been together for 3 years and I feel lonely because our lives are so hectic. I've mentioned to him how I feel and all he says is sorry but doesn't seem to care. Anyone have any advice of what we can do to help our situation? or what I can do?

In a relationship, even if you do mesh well, each person is still an individual. Therefore each person's needs are going to be different. This is not a bad thing, nor does it reflect on how much a person loves an other. Finally, remember that things change in life. How you view the current situation will effect how you feel about it. For example, if you think to yourself, "Man... we are so busy now... it must mean we are growing apart", you are going to feel bad and guilty. If you view it as, "Life is full of changes, we make the most of our time together, we have limitations and this does not mean we love each-other any less", you will find that you feel far less terrible. Final point: Don't believe everything you feel. And if you don't know, ask don't assume.

My boyfriend and I lhave been together for a year and have been living together for 11 months. He is a loner by nature and I live for company. You just need to set a certain time to spend together, whether is eating dinner together or watching a movie at night...something romantic that doesn't involve a lot of planning. We usually watch a movie or hockey together at night when I get home from work (he works 8-5 and I work 11-8). With our different work schedules, he gets 3 hours to himself while I'm still at work. Just let him know that you want to spend a little more time with him even if it's just cuddling on the couch vegging out.

I might be worried if he doesn't seem to care, as you say. Make sure he's not losing interest....

You guys have been together for a long time, and I am in a similar situation really - so you know when something's up by now.

I talk with my mate all the time via instant messaging and phone... invest in these things if you don't have them available to you. Write letters even. Whatever. When you spend time together, talk. When you do talk, talk about meaningful things.

btw, ignore the first comment, what a pervert. You certainly don't need to be having sex to stay happy.

some men take out their feelings to not be so emotional, maybe he is trying to hide how he misses you, some guys feel with their heart and some hold back from it, try talking to him again, tell him how you feel that he doesnt care, and that you both need to do something to bring a new closeness to each other, if he says no, then i believe he is no longer interested in the relationship, not that he doesnt love you or has someone else, just he may be moving in a different direction such as a profession rather than love

You need to spend time together whenever it's convenient for both of you. It might be hard, but if you really care about this relationship, you can make it work. Still, you should focus first on your school and work — they're the most important things in your life right now.
