texas in the summer, if you go somewhere like new braunfels, texas, which has a waterpark, as well as rivers for toobing. It's also extremely close to san antonio and austin, san antonio has the riverwalk and many amusement parks, and austin has many nice outside parks and nice stores downtown.
or even somewhere like pennsylvania is nice, its affordable and you can see many historical areas. areas close to gettysburg and such.
i think for a vacation you should try to find somewhere where its unusual.. unlike florida and nyc and cali.. its all the same, find somewhere where you get to experience something not everyone else in the world has.

Sudan. Afghanistan. Rwanda. North Korea. Haiti. i wager Afghanistan is the worst if I even ought to settle on on one. EDIT: purely to be diverse, there's a touch island off the coast of Brazil it really is meant to have about a million fer de lance kind snake (very venemous) in step with sq. meter, all the way from the rocky shore to the height of the mountain contained in the approach the island. This position might want to suck for a visit.

San Diego is nice. But if that's not close, just try going somewhere you haven't been before. That is a good way to find several places that you like for future trips.
