today is my boyfriends birthday and they didn't let me be with him. I was going to take him to do a tattoe he wanted and i was going to pay as a birthday gift but my parents said NO. I freakin hate the fact that we don't see as much and then my parents have to be like that.

Your parents think that they are being supportive and protecting you. Maybe the don't feel like they can't trust you to go out as much as you would like...? I know that sounds really harsh, but the only way to find out is to ask them. Ask them why they feel that you can't go out as much as you want. Could it have been the tattoo that made then queasy?

Talk to them straight and honestly. Don't yell. If your parents see you acting more mature, they'll treat you like a mature person

how hard is it for u to understand ur parents? ur 18, u should know better by now., i mean of course they would not let you do that., do u need to rationalize it? sorry to be harsh but it's true, how mature is that? buying ur bf a tattoo on his birthday? as long as u live in the house u have to go by the rules, until u finish school and earn ur own money u cant do anything drastic such as that, just go watch a movie, i know ur sincere with what u want to give him, but hey, it does not seem right, just host a dinner for him,. ur parents love u and they just dont want u to do somethng that will not be of good interest to u. g'luck! talk to them y the act the way the fo to u, always listen to them if ur not sure with what ur doing, they won't let u down.

Your parents are trying to help you because they must love you. Here is what I mean, they must have went through either one or some bad relationships in their past, so they don't want you to go through what they've went through in your life. Maybe they may have douts about your man, and want to see for theirselves if he will do right for you, or treat you badly. Parents are like that you know.

Your parents think they're protecting you. Have you done anything to make them feel that they can't trust you or him? What is your age, that could be a factor too. Let them know they can trust you and him together.

Maybe your age has something to do with it. Maybe your parents don't want you spending your money on something like that. Take him out to dinner instead.

First off, if you can't spell tattoo you don't need to buy anyone one and it sounds like he's too young for it anyway.

Just tell them you're going somewhere and then go with him.
