The girl (23) is very mature for her age, a college grad, has a good job... has been through alot in life... always lived w/father so is def not seeking a parent, she wants to have a family one day and a loving man.
The guy (43) chose the career path after the military in hopes he'd find a wife somewhere along the way... women he'd been with cheated.. he took time to figure himself out and what he wanted and focused on work. now owns a house and has a good stable job and wants a family.
they both agree on many things, life, children, relationships, love, have some of the same friends... The girl is friends with his mother and two brothers, helped move him into his home and set up/organize it. There is a flirtation between them nothing more than friendship... the girl wants to wait till marriage or engagement for sex and the guy knows this...
as a friend or parent would you be able to accept this? how would you handle being told? what if they chose to marry? would feeling change

" matured for her age", i think this statement says she can handle herself pretty good and as a friend i don't see anything wrong if the man has respect and love for her.

Age matters. At 23 she's just getting through mental puberty. She's still a kid with very little life experience.
At 43 he's been around the block a few times. He has more life experience and maturity than a 23 y.o. She could be cute, but he could become bored with her inability to keep up with him mentally. The wisdom of age supersedes the knowledge of books every time.

20 years different whe it comes to men and women, alot long time ago, was readily excepted. A normal thing really if you looked into marriages back in the 30's 40's. Men that older, were more able to care for our younger daughters and provide a home more readily than a younger man.

IF you can see it in her eyes and hear real love in her heart, then I'm pretty sure this shouldn't upset you. Well, make sure you see it in his as well.

I hope she's right about his ex's being the cheaters, and it wasn't him!!

Age doesn't matter!

At the end of the day, what matters is that they are both at the same maturity level and there is open communication and honesty!

My feeling would be "what business is this of mine?" Seems they know what they are doing, so unless you have some sort of negative information about one of them, and even so, your nose does not belong in their business. Just my take on the whole thing. Girl sounds like she is smart, thoughtful and in charge of herself and the guy sounds like a smart, thoughtful and financially savvy guy. Hardly something to get my panties in a bunch! What would I say? "WOW finally someone who thinks BEFORE they leap!"
