Pepsi, Coke,GM, and Ford support La Raza. If racist groups like the Black Panthers, or the KKK were refused any donations could they sue for racism ?

NOTE : I don't support any racist groups, just a odd little thought that popped into my dark, twisted mind.

Visit the La Raza website, the Black panther website, and the KKK website and it should be apparant that the KKK represents a hate group. Thier website is filled with attacks on people of other nationalities and cultures. This is why these large corporations are giving money to groups like La Raza and the Black Panthers, who advocate harmony not division.

La Raza gives millions to charities every year to fight poverty.
The black panthers run FREE medical clinics all throughout the US.
The KKK hates Jews, Black people, Hispanic people, middle eastern, asian, gay people, and anyone different from them.
The KKK groups have killed people.

EDIT:

I ATTEND UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON!!!!!!!!
I HAVE TAKEN PROFESSOR GUTIERREZ'S ETHNIC POLITICS COURSE. YOU HAVE TO READ A FULL TRANSCRIPT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAID. THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AND THE OTHER PROFESSORS HAVE AGKNOWLEGED THAT HIS SPEECH WAS NOT RACIST. HE IS NOW ONE OF THE 6 HEAD POLITICAL SCIENCE PROFESSORS HERE!!

Prof. Gutierrez is just a brilliant man who uses metaphors to present his oppinions. He was misquoted and context was left out. The San Antonio Express has stated that their original qoutes were wrong. This qoute is from 1969, during the civil rights era when desegragation and a lot of other racial equality initiatives where occuring. He was speaking about LEGAL immigration and civil rights. He said "gringo's are members of society of all nationalities who have become physcologically castrated [not to accept change for the better].

HERE IS THE REST OF HIS QUOTE:

(NEXT QUESTION) What do you mean by ‘eliminate the gringo?’

(PROFESSOR GUTIERREZ'S ANSWER: “You can eliminate an individual in various ways. You can certainly kill him but that is not our intent at this moment. You can remove the base of support that he operates from be it economic, political, social. That is what we intend to do.”

He was basically saying the way to win equal rights is through political and social action, not through violence. THIS IS WHY HE FOUNDED LA RAZA!!!!!!!!

The anti-illegal immigration group American Patrol still uses his old 1969 San Antonio Express quotes which have been discredited and which I see being posted all the time on the internet.

It's just the flavor of the week... don't get upset... they are companies trying to reach out to consumers... if the KKK ot the Black Panthers were a viable consumer group that could actually impact the market, rest assured they would target them...

capitalism is best when left alone.... the market will sort itself out... go back to Smith, he knew....

The ACLU would take the Black Panther case, but the KKK would be left high and dry.

I don't know much about La Raza, but from what I've heard, they are celebrating their heritage, not killing people (like the KKK). I do agree, though, that these companies shouldn't be supporting the group because one, many of them are here illegally, and two, it is not fair to other groups that need just as much help. I think the companies are mainly doing this for the attention from the media.

Sista Soldier, I have read a few of your posts. You seem to enjoy race baiting. Just a hypothesis, but it also seems as if your identity is based on anger and a need to denegrate other races in order to feel better about your own. I wonder, have you ever posted something about how to improve inter-racial harmony? Have you ever worked on finding common ground with other races (some argue there is no such thing as race, we are all human with varying degrees of skin pigment) and cultures? Even if you feel no need to work on interracial harmony, I think you need to work on yourself. It seems to me that you suffer from a cultural PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder). Your people have been hurt and tortured for many years by white people and, as a result, you seem filled with distrust, hypervigilance, intrusive memories (of negative events), and irritability/rage. This is understandable and makes sense that you would feel this way. However, as I would tell any person with PTSD filled with rage - you need to learn forgiveness. That is NOT TO SAY forget what happened. It is to say that holding in this hatred and anger is harming you and is toxic and may be preventing you from interacting effectively with your greater environment. Instead, you need to find a way to move forward, especially since society is making some progress on race relations and anger like yours may backfire and make things worse, not better. As with any PTSD patient, forgiveness does not mean reconcliliation either. You may chose to forgive a person (or race) but have little to nothing to do with that person ever again. So you may chose to avoid white people but it is unhealthy to harbor what seems to be such rage and anger toward them. In summary, forgiveness is letting go of hate and anger. It is not forgetting and it is not reconciliation and befriending the person who hurt you. So what does it accomplish? Nothing for the person who hurt you, everything for yourself - because hate, rage and anger eat you up inside. Some ask, but its not fair that I should forgive the other person (or race) who hurt me. Remember, all your hate and anger against white people is not hurting them really, it mostly impedes and hurts you and makes you unhappy (unless you engage in terrorism, and this still never fixes things). I think Martin Luther King would agree with me that you need to be assertive and demand change, but not be so full of hate and anger that you feel a need to post attacking and unnecessary messages that have little purpose (such as some of your previous posts).

Black Panthers? Are they still around?

2006-11-14 09:20:17 · answer #7 · answered by KSR 2 · 5 3

Sure.

Doesn't mean they will win their case. Which is why they don't, because they have no proof.

I could sue you for assaulting me. I wouldn't win, you never did, so I don't have any proof.
