Approximately how many vehicles are in NYC?

I just want to know a ball park figure, and i need a source too. I'm writing an english paper and i need a website source.

This link tells you the number of vehicles that are registered in NYC. I think that is a pretty good ballpark figure, unless you need to know how many cars are in the city, but not operational.
