I'm gonna assume you mean you're flying to LGW or LHR then connecting to an AA flight to DFW.

The London-DFW flights are on 777s, which are some of AA's newer planes. Each seat in economy has a personal touchscreen where you can pull up music, movies, or an inflight map (sorry, no movies-on-demand). Most seats have access to a power plug (cigarette-lighter style. More than you can say about most other airlines). You will get 2 meals on the way, one shortly after takeoff, and one shortly before landing. There usually are snack/juice tables set up by the rear lavs.

For a seat map, please see http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/American_Airlines/American_Airlines_Boeing_777-200_A.php (two different versions, but it won't matter unless you're flying in 1st.)

No, it's not the most glamorous, but it's not "Greyhound with wings" either. Frankly, I'd rather be on AA in economy than BA.

American is a good airline, safe above all, but not the best service. Pretty average compared to other airlines like BA, Swiss or Lufthansa.

Here you will find some comments on AA flights from LHR and LGW to Chicago,JFK and Dallas.

American Airlines is one of the four major airlines in the US with flights all over the world. I have flown them many many time and last year flew them from Gatwick to the US

I've flown from Heathro/Gatwick to Dallas with American Airlines and also from Montreal to Dublin. They are an okay airline but not my favorite. Very abrupt and such. Normally for long haul trips I try and go by British Airways.

Basic air travel, steerage on a greyhound. It will get you from point a to point b, but not terribly comfortably.
