Do Bhuddists have philanthropic organizations?

Schools, hospitals, economic development centers, etc?

Not so much in the US, but in other countries, yes...

No, there are. The Dalai Lama has founded one...

Buddhist groups came to the Mississippi Gulf coast after Hurricane Katrina and helped us. They were from California. I don't know their name. There is a Buddhist center in my area that helps people day to day but they needed help themselves at that point.
