If you were a genie and a person asked you this wish, "I wish you would not grant me this wish" what would you do?

Well, genies are notoriously crafty, so, I would wait for his next wish. Then, if I wanted to, I'd either grant it or not. The reason for this is, "I wish you would not grant me this wish" could be interpreted as, "I wish you would not grant me this wish:". Do you see the difference? The colon at the end changes the meaning, without changing what was said. Now, it means don't grant me the next wish I ask for. ie) "I wish you would not grant me this wish: I wish to be rich." Then, if ever he wishes to be rich, you don't have to grant it, because he told you not to.
