just the way you did I think.
Honest, straightforward answers are best I think.

Sweetie? I know it isn't as simple as it sounds. When this friend takes you out, do you let him pay for everything? Stop going out with your 'friend' unless you can go Dutch. You pay for yours, he pays for his. Then, you don't have to feel obligated to him in that respect. If he really likes you a lot, his feelings are going to be hurt. No way out of that. Put yourself in his shoes. There is a way to do it without letting him down so hard that he doesn't want to be your friend anymore. You should do like you already said. Tell him I like you a lot and I would like to remain friends. I just don't feel a romantic connection with you right now. I have found that if you use the 'right now' at the end of the sentence, the other will usually say okay, because that gives the other hope that maybe he can better himself and who knows, one day, you might just look at him in a different light and see something that does spark your romantic interest. Just don't shut the door completely on him and he will see that maybe someday, if he is still interested and you are still available, that he may be able to change your mind. Even if you think it will never happen on your part, think again. You never know what experiences may bring you both back to the same spot in the future, feeling much different than you do right now. Good luck.
Oh, almost forgot...better make sure he feels the way you think he does or you may just embarrass yourself while trying to let him down gently. ask him where he thinks your relationship is going. Then go from there.

If he has been paying each time, then he feels like its a relationship already I"m sure.
So start paying your way, insist and let him know that is what friends do! Tell him that its great to have friend like you.
Using "friend" in a sentance several times IS "the kiss of death" even the most stupid of men can get that one.
Also decline any offer for another date, tell him, you have a date the night to go to the movies...So that way you can go out and its sounds like a date with another man. Oh, you don't know him, but he would love ot meet my friends after we get to know each other a little better.
Hey, I will call you after the holidays, maybe we can have coffee then> that will make it clear.

Be sure to choose your words wisely........Just let him know that although you value his friendship, that is all you can give him at this point is friendship. Tell him how much you enjoy going out with him and hanging out, and try not to go out with him by yourselves becuase that will seem more like a "date" to him!! Hang out with him around other friends, and let him down gently!!

guy youthful women right this moment could nicely be harsh, why can not you merely tolerate him? And if he tries to make a pass on you permit him be attentive to you're actually not fascinated and that that's merely too strange to be around him then. perhaps he gets gentle the extra he's around you and he will stop being clingy/stressful, could desire to be that he's very enthusiastic to speak to you. wish this enables.. extra valuable yet, make him attentive to your boyfriend .. who is going to a distinctive college . in case you're saying he's "extreme high quality", then i could take it that he's a extreme high quality guy, so merely permit him down. the extreme high quality ones can recover from it and pass on..
