You sound just like my dad who still only eats really healthy foods anyways. Healthy food can be tasty too. I mean i cook a lot and some ways to add flavor are not sugary and fatty are adding spices and herbs to a good quality marinade with maybe some tomato sauce, chicken broth and SOME SALT AND PEPPER. That works really well with chicken of course. Also for dessert you could try slowly cooking some of your favorite fruits with about 1-2 ounces of sugar until they are bathing in their own juices and i like having blueberries in there somewhere because if the bluberries have changed color completely then its ready then strain the berries of their juices (reserve this stuff) and line a bowl with (trust me this works so dont stop reading after this) sliced bread by cutting up some good-quality (not-wonderbread) sliced bread and fitting the pieces together until none of the fruits will fall into the bowl. Then put in the berries and cover it with more bread and something heavy. Refrigerate until dessert tomorrow night. Then pour the fruit juices over it and you have a fruit-bread pudding. Hope you enjoy.

Because fat, sugar and salt are what give foods flavor. Ever notice how the low fat versions of the same foods taste bland? Actually, all those things you mentioned can be good for you but in moderation. Everyone needs a certain amount of sodium in their diets. As for oil...olive oil and oils from nuts, avocados and fish are really good for you. Cheese has lots of protein and calcium. Chocolate especially the dark kind has antioxidants.

Well, we as humans are built to like the taste of fat and sugar, which junk food has high quantities of. And also, there are some ways to find low fat/ fat free food that is "healthy" but actually pretty tasty. If sugar is the problem diabetic chocolate and things like that are great.
But stuff without sugar OR fat taste bad. Trust me.

There are things in those "junk foods" that your body needs. It is just not a good idea to consume those foods all the time, because they have extremely high quantities of the things that your body needs which can lead to problems later in life. Too much salt, high blood pressure, but salt, or sodium, is a necessary nutrient. And when you buy salt and it says "iodized salt," that is another necessary nutrient: iodine. Sugar isn't a necessary nutrient, but consuming normal amounts of it aren't going to hurt you. Oil can also be very healthy, especially if you choose the RIGHT oil. For instance, Canola oil, Olive oil, Cod Liver oil, or just plain fish oil that doesn't specify what fish it came from. These are all good oils. They are high in fat, but they contain no TRANS FAT, which pure vegetable oil does contain. If you use oil that solidifies at room temperature, then it is unhealthy. Some Canola oil brands contain a mixture of Olive oil and vegetable oil, etc., but most of them don't contain TRANS FAT. Everyone thinks saturated fat is the bad fat, probably because of the word "saturated." But, no. Cheese is good for you because it has protein in it from the milk it was made from, but too much of it is not good because of the cholesterol and sodium. And chocolate. If you're going to eat chocolate, get DARK CHOCOLATE. It contains antioxidants, the stuff that supposedly can prevent certain types of cancer. But, don't eat too much of it, because it is high in sugar and it does have a lot of fat in it (not Trans fat), but still, you want to get fat into your diet, but just don't overdo it.

If junk food tasted bad, would anyone eat it?? The whole point of creating junk food is so that you'll buy it, enjoy it, and make the company a lot of $. They don't care that much about what goes into it, as long as it tastes good. As people are starting to watch their weight a little more, junk food lines are starting to come out with "healthier" alternatives (ex: Baked Lays, Diet Soda)

Easy answer for your question! Learn to cook. I can cook many healthy meals that are far from bland, have plenty of flavor, and are hearty. Quit depending on some corporation and their microwavable products to make you good food. Make your own. BTW Salt and cheese in moderation are not unhealthy. In fact salt is a necessity to live.

You're taste may change as you get older. Example when I was about 20 I went off sweet foods, don't eat much chocolate now.
And healthy food can taste nice if it's by a good cook.

Well, man, I don't know why junk food is so good, or why good food sucks. If you want healthy, tasty food you have 2 choices: additives(unnatural), or a strange land/universe where healthy things taste great(virtually impossible).
I dunno,

your basic taste likes grease and salt and sugar. these make your body release drugs to your brain that say i am happy. it goes back to your neanderthal needs and for some reason we haven't evolved much.
learn to cook and you will learn that there is more to taste than grease salt and sugar. most countries developed cuisines. the united states developed hot dogs. try searching elsewhere.
by the way -- chocolate isn't bad for you -- its the milk fats and oils and waxes and chemicals they use to process it that is. try to cultivate a taste for bakers semi-sweet chocolate. it is sweetened but has no other major bad things for you.
