We loved him very much. He was so sweet and he personified the word LOVE.

"Beloved" appears many times in the Greek New Testament, it really means "loved one", while Brethren means "brother". In fact a couple times the Greek says beloved while the English Bibles mistranslated it into brethren. So your pastor is okay in my book (from what I can see)........ well actually its not "MY" book so-to-speak.

No, but I think that's very sweet. My pastor regularly tells each and every one of us he loves us. One day, he said this to my son who said "ummm, thank you...?" Pastor told him it was ok for guys to verbally express love for each other. I said, "and the Bible tells us to greet each other with a holy kiss, too!" Pastor admitted that was a bit too much for him!

Peace.

p.s. -- I do love my Pastor. He's an awesome Christian.

According to some, we are all "beloved sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father". In my church, we're told that all the time. It's a nice feeling.

My paster doesn't know me but if she called me that I would never come near her again for I find that creepy coming from a complete stranger.
