i'm taking a step aerobics class every monday and wednesday for an hour and i LOVE it! i've already lost a lot of weight and i can see how much more tone my body is. the only negative is that when i used the taller step my knees started bothering me, but when i went back down a size it quit hurting. i highly recommend taking step because it's really made a difference in my body

I take step aerobics 3 times a week. I also take pilates 2x a week for toning. In step class we also use free weights for toning so you get cardio and toning all in one class. It does take a few weeks to get used to the moves, but if u keep it up, it will start to come easy to you. I get a good workout...and sweat ALOT so u will easily burn calories. good luck

I think you're limiting yourself with this either/or mindset. You'll get real benefits from both, why not use both along with other activities like yoga and bodyweight work to get total body conditioning?

I've been a hard-core road cyclist for many years, but I always throw in other activities for cross-training - too much of one thing will get you really good at that thing, but it's not the best for "real world" fitness and just feeling / looking good.
