Holiness
in the highest sense belongs to God (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 15:4), and to Christians as consecrated to God's service, and in so far as they are conformed in all things to the will of God (Romans 6:19,22; Ephesians 1:4; Titus 1:8; 1 Peter 1:15). Personal holiness is a work of gradual development. It is carried on under many hindrances, hence the frequent admonitions to watchfulness, prayer, and perseverance (1 Corinthians 1:30; 2co 7:1; Ephesians 4:23,24). (See SANCTIFICATION .)

Sanctification
involves more than a mere moral reformation of character, brought about by the power of the truth: it is the work of the Holy Spirit bringing the whole nature more and more under the influences of the new gracious principles implanted in the soul in regeneration. In other words, sanctification is the carrying on to perfection the work begun in regeneration, and it extends to the whole man (Romans 6:13; 2co 4:6; Colossians 3:10; 1 John 4:7; 1 Corinthians 6:19). It is the special office of the Holy Spirit in the plan of redemption to carry on this work (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2th. 2:13). Faith is instrumental in securing sanctification, inasmuch as it (1) secures union to Christ (Galatians 2:20), and (2) brings the believer into living contact with the truth, whereby he is led to yield obedience "to the commands, trembling at the threatenings, and embracing the promises of God for this life and that which is to come."

If holiness cannot be attained in this life, why did Jesus say be holy for I am holy? Holiness doesn't mean you will not sin. Holiness means you will live a life the way God designed you to live, and if you sin you will immediately ask for forgiveness. It means that you will get rid of anything in life that you value more than God. I means you are set apart for His use. Sorry but holiness cannot be summed up in some quick answer because it requires a lot of thought and devotion to God.

Holiness is... to be full of holes.... or a nurse thats holy. haha just kidding

Personally, I think Holiness is being the Light in midst of Darkness, to be a spark of Hope in a sea of Despair and to be a Noble Nurturer among the abandoned masses without discrimination.

Holiness is Selfless Compassionate Love in its truest form

"Holiness", from the hebrew(?) translation, also means "consecrated", or "set apart". So, "Holiness to the Lord", for example, means "consecrated to the Lord", or "set apart for the Lord." So, a holy person is a person set apart (from the normal or natural). That is why we think of a "holy person" as being above us in some ways.

The classification as being sacred, not necessarily to a group, but to a person. A holy item is something you have reverence for.

Holiness is to be in Jesus name. Not just to know who he was or want to be like him but, to truly be in his name and the only way to do that is to be his Bride -- Mrs. Jesus Christ --- The Holy Catholic Church.

to be holy is to be set off
to be holy is to be perfect, without sin
these are not dictionary definitions, these are what I know.
holy is god and jesus, but man can never be holy, because man sins. therefore, we cannot be set apart.
