I got a girlfriend and...?

Question

I hate talking on the phone and she loves it. What should I do, I can't come up with good topics to talk about.... What should I talk about?

uhmm no, seriously, you can't force conversation..and if the conversation dies than it's just time to end the phone call. it's not that huge of a deal. i feel ya though, i'm not a phone person and i'm always stuck trying to come up with **** to talk about..but like i said.. you can't force it. if you have talked about your day, her day, and some stuff in between than there isn't much else you can do..

It is great that you are compelled to meet your girlfriend halfway with talking on the phone. You should try telling her that you are not much of a phone person and that you'd rather talk in person. That will give you an excuse to spend extra time with her and learn more about her which in turn, will help you have more to talk about. If that doesn't work, try talking about the events of the day, her favorite tv shows, or just things that you two have in common. Good luck!

Generally people like to talk about themselves, and if you don't like talking on the phone, then get her to do the talking. Ask her questions, ask what she thinks about (any topic), or what she feels about (any topic). She will feel flattered that you are asking about her, and she can do all the talking in the phone call.

Oh boy that's a biggie.. try asking her why does she enjoy being on the phone so much and your not trying to offend her but you want something else more exciting than just being on the other side of the phone. Believe some people just let their lifes be sorrounded by the phone and i too hate talking on my house phone or cell phone it takes 80% of my attention anyways.

I had this problem with my boyfriend, we were in a long distance relationship so it was a huge problem. Just tell her about your day, small things. That should make her happy. And if you two live close to each other, just tell her you don't like talking on the phone a lot. She should understand, but its about compromise. Talk a lot some days and not a lot some other days.

I have this problem too. I always ask them if they know that communication is made up of 90% body language and that over the phone I am seriously handicapped without being able to read her physically. Then I suggest text messages or myspace or e-mail.

This shows her that you are smart and pay attention to the fine art of communication, and gives an opening to a form of communication that guys prefer... e-mails and text have to be straight and to the point... no filler or bs! hope this helps buddy!

maybe you should set a date for you to talk all the thing she wants to know or to talk about. Also tell her that you don't want much over the phone.

omg my boyfriend hates talking on the phone too.. i hate it..i dont see whats soo wrong about it but yeah its fine now i guess but just tell her you would rather talk to her in person cause talking on the phone is just not your thing

think about funny stories from the day. ask her questions - like how was work/school? what are you up to this week?

and don't feel obligated to talk for too long. sometimes girls like it but it's hard to talk everyday and it ends up being about nothing if you talk for too long. even the best talkers like myself run out of words:)
