You both are right. It all depends on your body type. Some people have high metabolisms and some people have low. When you have a high metabolism your body can burn off fat faster. When you have low it's a lot harder. So if you drink beer every day your going to get fat. And if you eat unhealthy food every day your going to get fat. If you want to stay healthy boost your metabolism eat healthy every day, and exercise as least 4 times a week. That way you don't have to worry about getting fat whether you drink beer or not.

Beer acts like food in your system. If one was stranded in the wild and all you had was beer you could actually live off of it for a time, really lol!
Of course many people have done this, not needing to just enjoying it I guess? My Mr. loves (no this is not right LOVES) beer. He told me this and I made him quit drinking it so much. Smells like (well I will keep this to myself, your welcome :0).
Anyhoo same thing beer, food.....I do not no if this is correct for he may have said this to me so I would get off his case about stop the beer and eat real food? It's football season which I am sure you and your friend no quite well :0) lol

Food and not exercising enough are the sole contributors to fat.
Although some people may refer to a pot-belly as a 'beer belly' authorities say that the consumption of alcohol has no effect on weight gain anymore than any other source of calories.

Why are you just talking about it? Why don't you put your money where your mouths are? Or in this case, your beer and food.
Why doesn't one of you start a diet of just beer and drink as much as you want, while the other one eats as much as they want? Then see who gains the most weight. But remember, both of you can't pick beer.

If your consuming equal calories i.e...1000 calories of beer versus 1000 calories of food (real food not candy or soda) then beer will generate more fat faster. The calories it contains are not converted to energy the same as food, thus why they are called empty calories. Calories not converted to energy are converted to fat.
