It is not wrong, maybe that person is the one and because your family doesn't like him cause of his race you're gonna lose that opportunity? You should find your happiness cause if they were in the same situation you probably would't get involved and accept it.

In all honesty growing up I was taught that it was wrong for different race relationships. And untill about 6 months ago I agreed with my family on that. But here's the thing. I'm now 25 and about 2 years ago I met a guy that was black and for the longest we were just friends. At one time I never thought he was goodlooking, even though he is, because of how my family had made my outlook on the situation. 6 months ago we started dating, my mom had no problem with it but my dad and brother and other family members did, and I've been happier with him and treated better by him than anyone else I've ever been with. If you both truely like each other and are truely happy together then you should give it a try because your family will get over it sooner or later. My brother kept his comments to everyone in the family but me, my dad told me I was gross and I was nothing to him no more. After about a month went by they both realized that I wasnt going to leave him and that they were just going to have to deal with it and finally started talking to me again. If your family truely loves you, which they do, they won't disown you just because you have made a choice to be with the opposite race. Follow your heart and let yourself be happy. You would hate to pass it up and wonder the rest of your life if he was the one or not. Good luck.

how old r u?

if u can think on ur own then u can make ur own decisions! ur family will get over anything u do if they love u. this is America and there is no one race or the other anymore, we r all the same... i bet that some time in the future every person on the face of the earth will be the same color, so unless everyone stops intergrating and having babies with another race then their own, then it doesn't matter wut u do now... if u think its lust or love then go for it because u only remember the life u live, if u live it.

Things don't always go as u plan or the way anyone else plans it but its fun to try and make yours work, think of everything u do as an adventure and just let things take u to your destiny!!!!

try anything as long as it makes u happy!!! that's all that should matter!!!

I see no harm in dating someone of a different race. No matter the skin color everyone has feelings and every person has individual personalitys. You are your own person and you do what you think is right. But in my words i would definetly date someone of a different race. Just remember feelings and personality matter not skin color. Familys are always gonna diagree no matter what your choice is. Dating someone from a different race to me is 100% fine. Go for it and see what happens. Good luck and lots of happiness.

To me, this is a matter of personal choice of who a person is attracted to. In the 1950's it would be different but in today's time it is nothing uncommon. The thing is, how does he treat you? It doesn't matter about the color of a person's skin, it is all about love. Just follow your heart and if you want to be with this guy then go for it. I'm sure that your family will get over it because you mean alot to them and are a very sweet and smart girl. I know you will make the decision that is right for you!

Of course not inter racial relationships are fine its a beautiful thing why else do you think God made us in different shapes colors and sizes, not to stay with one race but to mix it up, God loves all types people. why does everyone think you should be with someone of your own ethnicity you might actually have more in common with some one of the opposite race than with someone of your own, when you look at someone you should like them for who they are inside not their skin or height or any other part of their appearance so if you truly like this guy don't let his color stop you tell your family to kick rocks and go with it.

Well you will be very happy to know that there is only one race and that's the human race throughout different ethnic groups who can is what your family thinks if he treat you good and you love him the family will get used to him if not it's their loss but don't you lose out by letting this guy go

It is not wrong or bad to date someone of another race or culture. In fact, it is a healthy way of getting to know another culture and lifestyle. If you happen to fall head over heels in crazy love...cool!! Bonus!!

However, if your family is dead set against inter-racial couples, you must ask yourself if this relationship would be worth the pain and stress caused by it. Could you live with it if your family cut you off or if your boyfriend left you because he couldn't handle being the unwanted guest at family functions?

You should also ask yourself if it is inter-racial couples which your family disagrees with in general, or if it is this particular guy who rubs them the wrong way.

I seriously don't see the big deal.I don't think I'll understand why anybody would have a problem with dating someone of the opposite race.

Well it is 2006, its not 1886. Im white and my Husband is from Guatemala. I dont care what other people think of us. I love him and he loves me. I do everyonce in while catch a dirty look from an older couple, but I dont care! If you love him and he feels the same That should be all that matters to you, If your family loves you they will havet to live with your choices. Everyone bleeds red!
