why would anyone want to do that in the first place? an animal has it's own smell and if it SMELLS really bad, its their coat or something.

NOT AT ALL, i was a dog groomer for a short while and we always put perfume on the dogs after their bath and it never hurt them. The perfumes we used are made by a company called Pet Silk out of Texas.

I think that if it is a perfume made for dogs then it is fine, if it is YOUR perfume then it is wrong you could make your dog really sick.
In any case what we do for our pets, baths, perfume, little dresses etc, is more to convince us how much we love them, they really think we are just insane, hahaha, imagine my cat when I put the cutest bell in her collar, she hated the thing but I just think she looks so cuteeee!!!.
I am pretty sure our pets put up with our insane stuff just because they like us, but that's pretty much it I don't see it as animal cruelty. Animal cruelty is when somebody kicks a dog to death or drowns kittens just because he doesn't want to drive to the shelter.

No, if it's perfume made for dogs. I just spray a little on my dogs back. I stay away from her face. See how your dog reacts. If your dog sneezes a lot or runs outside and rolls in something like a dead squirrel to get rid of the perfume smell, it's probably not worth it.

If you're TESTING the perfume on dogs, then yeah...I do. And if it's human perfume, then there might be something in it that's bad for dogs...so yeah. But if it's specially made for dogs, and the people who made the perfume know it's ok for dogs, then nah...not really.

Absolutely not! My dog-Mikey-loves all the special attention he gets from me after his bath. I first noticed he liked perfume when I sprayed Channel 5 on myself and he started rolling around on the floor, like he wanted some on himself too.
All of my other animals: bird, cats and my other dog, do not get any scents put onto them.

Who do you do it for, the dog or for you and/or other people? I am sure the answer is for you and/or for other people but hey, what is wrong with that? NOTHING. No, it is not animal cruelty. Dogs don't mind unless they are being drowned in it.

Do you think it is cruelty to put it on you? Dog Cologne is made for them just like perfume is made for us.
