I used to think it was part of the cheese when I was little and I would eat it.

Of course, now I realise that it's wax and should be peeled off.

It is a wax seal to keep the cheese from drying out. I haven't eaten it and wouldn't recommend it.

Probably did when I was little-The best bit is not the cheese or the wax,it's the edge of the cheese cos it's tough and chewy.

I have never eaten the red rind. Somehow I have always known that it is inedible. Maybe it is the colour. It just looks too much like plastic.

Yes - i did the same as you when I was younger and thought it was lovely. Did the same with plastic on black pudding.

It doesnt taste that much worse than the pale wax inside it

Yeah my kids do. No matter how many times i tell them. They do the same thing with Babybels as well. I also can't let my youngest into the garden unattended as he likes to eat slugs.

yeah i was wasted at my friends house who is going to culinary school(ohh my God helluva cook) ihad the munchies sooo bad and i went through his fridge. i was like red cheese hell yes. i ate a whole bag of those little individually wrapped ones. he comes in the kitchen and i'm like that red cheese is awesome with a michelob but it gets stuck in my teeth so bad. he's like what red cheese. i showed him the bag and he laughed his *** off. i was so constipated

No, but I used to love shaping it in to things. It used to be more malliable after you held it in your hot little hand for a while.
