Because... they don't want to go to Heaven?
Seriously, I already have eternal life, thanks. I will continue the cycle of reincarnations until I have experienced all that life has to offer and then rejoin the cosmic whole in the Summerlands.
I don't not love your God, but that really has nothing to do with the situation.

1.) They get to heaven through Jesus, God's son. ("I am the way, the truth and the life, NO ONE comes to the Father but through me.")
2.) It's a heart problem, not a lack of information. Pray for them.

How do I know that God even exists, let alone heaven? I don't believe in God!
If I was sure that there's a God, I wouldn't "love" him just to get into heaven! That's cupboard love, that's fair-weather friendship...

That's Pascal's Wager. The reason I don't believe is because there's no reason to. I have no evidence for proof. Besides I don't think god would want you to believe just so you can get into heaven.

What if god and heaven doesn't exist? Why should I believe in these things then?
If you want to say, "Of course god exists", then change your question to say, "Why don't you love Thor, god of thunder?". You're now in the exact same frame of mind that I'm in.

Why don't you love Apollo the Sun God? Remember that old episode of Star Trek? Apparently, if you love Apollo and worship him he will take good care of you.
The serious point is - there's no proof that there is any god out there - Apollo or otherwise. That's why we don't love what we don't think is real.

Is the reward of going to heaven the only reason to be religious?
I doubt it.

It's more to it than just liking God. You have to obey and follow Him. People for some reason don't like to be told what to do. Why? I don't know. Living for God is very peaceful and there's nothing else in the world like it.
