Thou shall not let thy undies invade thy butt crack - 2nd Wilber 2:12

Let's begin with mini-skirts. Women who wear this are showing a lot of their legs. I believe it's immodest to do so. I understand that in today's society such a display is considered the "style." But just because society's standards have shifted it doesn't mean that God's standards have shifted.

We must ask too, if the reason the woman is choosing to wear mini-skirts is for sex appeal. This would be a greater sin than if she was just choosing to do so just because she likes the style...and is not thinking at all about sex appeal. But I don't think that's likely. Most everyone knows that bare legs have some sort of sex appeal.

Next, Thong underwear. I don't think it's a sin so long as it's not showing.

Makeup. I think it's perfectly healthy and alright for a woman to make herself look pretty with makeup. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, the Bible does say that women should dress modestly - 1 Timothy 2:9 - and that in exercising our freedoms we should not put a stumbling block in our brother's way - 1 Corinthians 8:9. That verse is specifically in context to eating foods sacrificed to idols, but common sense tells us that this is applicable to any liberty that we have.

A Christian woman is certainly free to dress provocatively. However, if she wears a mini skirt or a short, tight shirt and jeans that reveal thong underwear, and by this causes a brother with whom she is not married to lust after her stumbling into sin, then, yeah, there's definitely a problem.

What it really comes down to is the girl's motivation in what she is wearing. Is she wearing the mini skirt to turn men on whom she is not married to? Is she wearing what she is wearing to elicit a lustful response from men? If so, then it seems appropriate to ask her to examine her heart and ask herself why, exactly, she would want to do this. If this is her goal, is this a goal that is pleasing to the Lord Jesus who specifically said that if a man looks on a woman lustfully he has committed adultery in his heart - Matthew 5:28? If her goal is to cause men to stumble this way, this is putting a stumbling block in the path of her brother. Therefore, I believe this is not living in a manner pleasing to God.

standing alone, no i don't think they are sinful, they are objects. It's how they are used. If they are used to entice or seduce then the bible has plenty to say about that. The bible also has plenty to say about discretion.
Proverbs 5 is good to give a bit of insight here...

Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
1 Timothy 2:9-10

Keep your min-skirts and thongs for your husband's eyes only. Men are visual creature and your provocative dress could cause a brother to stumble into lust. Consider Jesus' warning, ""Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man [or woman] through whom the stumbling block comes!" - Matthew 18:7

"And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures"

So Azazel taught Man the weapons and armors of War, and taught Woman about make-up and Victoria Secrets catalogs (the men found the catalogs, and came not out of the bathroom for a long time, and when confronted, claimed they were combing their hair)

The bible doesn't say "thou shalt not wear miniskirts". However, it does say that "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." (1 Corinthians 10:23).

I fail to see in any way how walking around half-dressed is edifying at all to either yourself or to the body of Christ. You must also remember not to be a stumblingblock to anyone.

1 Corinthians 8:9 "But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak."

Mat 5:28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
