He used to be the hard core smoker type, and then he quit since I have known him. Every once in a while when he's really stressed out or pissed off or just "feels like it" he'll have a cigarette (his roommates and all their friends also smoke). I am SUPER anti-smoking, and he knows it. Even when he doesn't tell me, I can smell it on him when he's been smoking and I call him on it. Doesn't smoking just one or two cigarettes just make him want to smoke that much more? Should I even bother talking to him about it since he already knows it's disappointing me? Advice, please.

Tell him you love him and will help him and support him if he choses to stop. Otherwise tell him that it is you or the cigarettes. Remember that a bad habit is more easily broken when it is replaced by a good habit. Good Luck!

First thing for one to stop smoking one must be willing to. If he wants to help him if he doesn't just appreciate that he isn't a chain smoker and at least has cut back on the problem. This was how I eventually quit and now I rarely think about a cigarette only under extreme circumstances and plus I used to smoke a lot when I drank beer and I gave that up too. For everyone saying to make him quit FU because he can say he quit and does it on the sly without her knowledge thus leading to other consequences such as the trust in the relationship being broken. My g/f loved me the same when I was smokin and when I quit. When I quit it was like the cherry on top for her that's it but she never forced me I did it out of my own will.

Yes you need to keep telling him how you feel about him smoking. If he cares enough about you he will sit down and you both can have a serious talk about it. Hopefully you can come to an agreement that you both like, but he needs to know how you feel on the subject, and if he already knows and does nothing about it then that should tell you something.

Everytime he goes to lit a cigarette, take it away from him and kiss him instead. That way he'll feel like he's getting a reward for not smoking.

tell him that he can smoke but only when you know it and not around his friends because that will influence him more! tell him that its either you or cigarettes and if he loves you so much and knows its disappointing you but if that doesn't work set dates for him to smoke and if he smokes to much...you'll know trust me sorry if this advice does not help you but its all I've got!
