I just heard about it and the data seems convincing.

They say it is the kind that is estrogen and progesterone positive. They also said the rate of this cancer is increasing and women could cut back on red meat to reduce their risk.

I think the data is far from convincing on any dietary cause of breast cancer.

As with any diet, you should eat in moderation!
One of the biggest problems with these types of reports is that people are lulled into thinking that if they stop eating red meat they won't get breast cancer. And, that's just not true. You can take every precaution in the books, everything that has ever been written. You can avoid red meat like the plague . . . and you might not get breast cancer . . but that won't stop a totally different cancer from arising like brain cancer or a kidney cancer that has nothing to do with how much red meat you eat.
It is wise to be aware of what may or may not be cancer causing. It is equally wise not to be excessive in what you put into your body. But, if you enjoy eating red meat there is no established reason why you cannot continue to do this as part of your diet.

red meat has been linked to several different types of cancer for a long time .. but not until now they have decided to show it on the news. Maybe because October was the breast cancer awareness month and everything turned pink??
The truth is that many studies in different population and countries have been showing the same link between red meat and cancer. Specially because of the fat, iron, nitrates and nitrites, salt and smoke residues. It will take a couple of years until they are able to prove for sure but until then... I limit my red meat at 1-2 every 14 days. and always baked, never charcoled.
By the way, breast cancer is #2 for woman but colon cancer is #3 for woman and men... They are both linked to red meat, obesity and smoking....

I saw that on the news too. Another good reason to cut back on red meat. I think it also increases your risk of colon cancer.

So can estrogen, you gonna get your ovaries removed to prevent getting cancer? Lots of things cause cancer. I got it two years ago and I'm not giving up my juicy steaks, tri tip, ribs, or anything else in fear of getting it again.
Life is too short to worry

It's just another thing that'll make you sick.
Remember this?
Flourescent lights give you cancer
Microwaves give you radiation
Aspartame gives you cancer
Gee, flourescent lights are widely used. Microwaves are still around & no one's got radiation poisoning from them. Aspartame is widely used in foods & no one's got cancer from that.
Do more research on your own & quit believing every story the news reports.
