Here is a list in order of how you should install and run them to clean sweep a computer. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and you need to run them all in order to catch everything.

Comodo AntiVirus
AVG Antivirus
CounterSpy
XoftSpy
ZoneAlarm Pro

Right now the highest-rated commerical antivirus software is Kapersky. NOD32 is also very highly regarded, and is the fastest scanner on the market, hand-down.

AVG Free and Avast are quite good AV products as well, and they are free.

McAfee is ok, while Norton is a resource pig that slows down systems more than the viruses it's supposed to protect against.

I work for a computer company and we recommend McAfee. I have seen it in action and working in the real world and it is a great product. I would recommend it over Norton and would probably recommend Norton if you don't want to use McAfee. If you want a free product then go with AVG it is the only good free product I have found. Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
