You can get rid of the monkeys no problem.

Not again.
WE DID NOT COME FROM MONKEYS
WE DID NOT COME FROM MONKEYS
WE DID NOT COME FROM MONKEYS
And evolution DOESN'T say we do. It says that we came from a common ancestor. Monkey's are another branch on the tree.
By the gods, at least get it remotely right and say that it was apes. But even that isn't correct.
You need to go back to school and learn. Because, right now, you're an embarassment to the human population on the planet. You should never be this blind and uneducated when you live in a first world country.

Uh, did some people go back to being monkeys? (just kidding).
I presume you are not using your funny comment as a conclusive, scientific argument against evolution? I notice some of the respondents are taking it that way and arguing with you.
I love Elphaba's answer, in the same vein. Gave me a good laugh. Even though I am a creationist myself.
But what I find really funny are those who are trying to give you a serious scientific answer explaining their point of view. If I shared their point of view, I really don't think I would be trying to argue seriously with your comment.

Current theory goes like this: We didn't come from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with monkeys.
It's like if you have a brother or sister, and they have kids. You also have kids. 1000 years from now, the two sides of the family will be very different (but not different species, obviously). The two sides of the family share a common ancestor, but one did not come from the other.
Hope that helps.

Man and monkey share a common ancestor. People did not come from monkeys any more than monkeys came from people.

Humans may have evolved from a species of the monkey but scientifically does not say that humans came from monkeys straight out.

Not from monkeys per se! Also, some things evolve faster than others. Like people who believe in evolution and those who don't, for example.

Who said people come from monkeys? People and monkeys have a common ancestor.
Educate yourself. Instead of making fun of those with whom you disagree, you are just displaying your own ignorance.

there are still monkies, because we didn't really evolve from those exact monkies, but their evolutionary ancestors. Evolutionwise, both humans and monkies were able to survive in the world, so over generations of mutations, both the humans and the monkies survived.

Couldn't help but crack up at the description. You sound like you're describing every government man in existence.
