Someone said that in another post. Why? I am a Christian, and because I divorced, and remarried, I am biblically an adulterous. So, does it stand to reason, I can also not be a Christian?

Isnt Salvation between a person and God alone? Who are we to judge who "can" or "cant" be a Christian??? We arent supposed to judge, noone can know anothers heart, right??

I think you CAN be homosexual, and be a Christian, anyone else?

Actually, you are not biblically an adulterous, the Bible does allow for divorce in certain circumstances.

And even if you were .... would you go to church and wear a big t-shirt that professed you were an adulterer and demand that everyone accept it? Would you ask that the church teach the adulterous "lifestyle" to it's children in order to promote more understanding between those who are not adulterous and those who are?

Would you ask to be the leader of the church?

That's the problem the church has with homosexuals. Most who sin do so as privately as possible and would never ask that others accept their sin as a part of their nature. But homosexuals ask that very thing. This is really the reason why they are not accepted into the church.

But be a Christian and gay? Sure, everybody sins, Jesus loves 'em all anyway!

Can a homosexual come to Christ? Yes. Can a person continue in fornication and be right with God? No. The epistles are written to God's people - not to those who do not belong to God. And the epistles specifically say that no fornicator will inherit the kingdom of God.

The idea is for the person to become born again, born anew, born of the Spirit of God. When a person comes to be born again that person becomes something new, something that they were not before. There is a transformation that takes place on the inside of the person, and the life of the believer in Christ is marked by that change. The first thing a person notices is they no longer desire the sinful things they were doing before they came to Christ. It doesn't mean they can't be tempted back into those things, but that temptation does not come from within anymore. It comes from an outside source. It's no longer the innate in the nature of the person. Old things are passed away, behold all things are made new.

I do agree with you. Why should people be excluded from a religion, especially one where in the bible it says, "Judge not lest ye be judged"?

People are just heartless. They feel that if there are homosexuals in THEIR religion, that it will make THEM look bad. Who cares what the other people in the religion are like, religion is a personal preference.

Also, I feel that homosexuals can decide what religion they want to be a part of. Who are we to stop someone from following Christianity? I don't see God smiting them, so I don't think it's altogether against Christianity.

I do think that the reason someone would say that is because when you become a Christian, you repent for your sins. If you are homosexual, repenting isn't exactly an option, because you are still going to be homosexual. I'm not sure homosexuality is a sin, though.

All who come to God in The Way He proscribes will receive His free gift of Salvation and their place in heaven will be assured.... one of the things one must do to come to God is to be compleatly and absolutly Repentant of all sin in ones life... that means, among other things, that one has full and honest intention not to ever commit the sins being repented of...God will know if there is honesty.... no one can come to god seeking Salvation and be still intending to commit the sins one says they are repenting...

one can be a drunk and come to God saying you will never drink again... and honestly mean it...god will know thins... this dose not mean taht some will fall victim to temptation and may drink again at some time... mortal fleah is weak... it is the truly and honest repentant heart that God knows and sees that is what is required...
But claiming to be repentant and knowing you have no intention to "quit" a particular sin...will not be accepted by God.... this goes for all sins.... homosexual practices included.

It is the homosexual act that is the abomination to God...not the homosexual

There are churches that, through biblical reading and spiritual thought, have decided that homosexuality is not a Christian sin (though they do not argue that it was under Mosaic law) and that the New Testament passages claiming otherwise have been misinterpreted or misapplied.

Whether they are correct or not is between them and God; but given the way certain evangelical protestants go after the Catholic church over the (apparent) deification of Mary and various saints (not to mention various accusations of tampering with scripture,) I wouldn't be too quick to cast judgement myself.

No you can't. A Christian is a follower of Jesus. To say you live according to the Bible but also are a homosexual would be contradicting. you can't claim to be a Christian but go and do something totally the opposite of what the Holy Bible teaches.

Jesus gives us the living water that springs up in us when you have truly seen Jesus you dont thrist or hunger of the things of the world anymore...being homosexual is of the world,,you will not desire those things if Jesus has truly come into your heart...You cant serve one God and another god...you cant be luke warm and serve Jesus,,either cold or hot...there are no inbetweens...if you are still dealing with homosexual or anyother sin,,one is not any greater than the other...then go to Jesus ask him your self...He will show his love and not condemn you...I speak from the heart and dont want to upset anyone..If you dont believe me then seek the one who will change your heart and his name is Jesus...

Homosexuality is sin, and purely like different sins, as quickly as we settle for the salvation it particularly is presented via Jesus, then we ought to consistently be attempting to no longer sin anymore. you're good nonetheless, all sins interior the Bible have the comparable punishment, and that's dying. a individual who's gay merits damnation not greater or decrease than a heterosexual adulterer or a liar as you stated. all of us sin, and all of us deserve dying, yet God in His mercy despatched His harmless son to die in our stead inspite of the undeniable fact that we don't deserve it. via the way, i prefer to make sparkling that I comprehend that a individual does no longer make the choice to be gay, yet neither does anyone consciously choose for to be sinful, so the undeniable fact that we do or do no longer easily choose for something does no longer enable us to off the hook. approximately being exempt from the previous testomony as stated interior the respond under mine, Christians are easily no longer exempt from the regulation of Moses. earlier Christ died, while somebody broke the regulation, that they had clergymen make sacrifices with the aid of fact sin can't be forgiven with out the laying off of blood. although, Jesus, having lived a suitable existence and being a descendant of Adam grew to become into our sacrifice, and thanks to this we are forgiven even nonetheless we nevertheless have sinned against the regulations as interior the previous testomony.

I'd say since I know many homosexual (aka "gay") people who have been Baptized and practice Christianity (aka "Christians") - I'd have to conclude that the answer is:

You can be both.

"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

There is no reason why we need to make a special label for the sin of "homosexual practice" - or to place it on some kind of a special pedestal...if we want to see a sinner - all we need do is look in the mirror.

You can not be gay and be a true Christian, no more than you can be a fornicator, liar, pedophile, etc.

Many people CLAIM to be Christian, yet don't follow (obey) the Christian way of life.
