While almost any carbonated beverage helps somewhat, the old tried and true is to drink ginger ale since the ginger has many therapeautic effects including stopping queasiness.

Ginger is an old nausea remedy, used a lot to lessen the effects of seasickness. You can also buy crystallized ginger and eat it. Keep some with you all the time.
I spend a moderate amount of time at sea. It may just be me, but I am unconvinced that it works.

Ginger Ale, Coca Cola or 7-UP have all been recommended for tummy troubles, but I've never heard anything about root beer.

I don't know what roots are in root beer, but ginger root helps with nausea and so does catnip (like the kind you give kitty to watch him frolic. Google root beer and see what is in it, try ginger ale or boil ginger root to make a tea, or steep catnip like you would tea leaves. I know that helps.

Ginger Ale is what you are looking for. Ginger, the main ingredient, is known for calming nausea. The carbonation also aids in relasing excess gas (through burping) which also helps in reducing stomach pains.

Ginger ale or 7-up have worked for me in the past. Let them go a little flat first.

I don't think root beer would help. Its very fizzy. I would try flat gingerale. That always seemed to help.
