it is an amino acid that is used to help prevent soreness after you work out. it is used a lot in building muscle proteins, and when your muscles are able to rebuild quickly and effectively you will not be as sore the next day.

There's some pretty complex answers there - here's the simple one. Glutamine is an amino acid that can aid muscle building, but it's most important use in the health of the body is that is the basis for the body to produce Glutathione, an anti-oxidant, which means that it helps stop the body cells being damaged and boosts the immune system.
Anti-oxidants mop up excess oxygen in the bloodstream as this causes cell damage. There are several dozen different anti-oxidents, but this one is considered particularly effective in the human body. Hope that helps.

Glutamine in the most abundant amino acid in the human body. Some of its uses are 1) Tx of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative colitis; 2) enhancing athletic performance; 3) improving immune function; 4) Tx of peptic ulcers; and 5) Prevention of chemotherapy side effects.

It is an amino acid. amino acids are protein precursors. also, in neurobiology, it is one of the amino acids that can act as a neurotransmitter, but it may need to be in glutamate form I can't remember.
