Getting truth from a bible is like trying to squeeze custard out of a weasel's butt.

The bible is the word of God? Which one? And can you prove it? Was it written by God or men? I forgot, why?

No matter the Bible or the Kuran or any other holy books, all were God's revelation (divine inspiration) to a prophet. Therefore, all the holy books were written by human. Even the Bible has three or four different versions written by different men. God bless all!..

Friend, There is only one truth,, you ask if the bible is the word of God, Yes it is, you ask which one, I use the King James & the aramaic bible, They both contain the same thing but in a different wording But not a different Revelation. Men wrote the bible as GOD gave them inspiration, The only part that God wrote himself is the 10 commandments, & they were written By the FINGER OF GOD

I have answered this question several times now...

God told the men who wrote the Bible what to write- they were led by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:21
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

The word of God is god breathed-

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

The Bible, just like many other religious texts, is a compilation of rules to be followed by a tribe or a nation. These texts are the primitive version of a Constitution. Actually, a lot of miths and stories shown in the Bible were taken from oldest religious texts from all around the middle east.

Hope it helpls.

Can you prove George Washington was America's first president? If yes, what does the proof consist of? Historical evidence? Contemporary writers? How do you know all that is reliable? A couple of centuries in plenty of time for people to have modified the historical events. I love this! This is exactly how some people try to debunk the Bible.

The bible is the word of God. Any bible that a particular follower picks up and believes. Can you prove it isn't? written by men through divine inspiration. You can call it what you want, you can spit on it, you can burn it, you can use the pages for toilet paper if you like....it is a free country. Just allow those of us who cherish it and follow it's word and commands have our little bit of freedom to believe it as well.

Well, one of the problems seems to be the fact thta any legitimation of a religious text goes along exactly the same lines as the legitimation of other, completely contradictory texts. There have been thousands of religions- but such is religon that there is no way to prove one over the other. This wouldn't be so bad if it really was true that all religions suggets the smae path, but any detailed reading of variuos scriptures (and awareness of recent world events!) will tell you that this is not the case.

They say the bible is the word of God, but as you are pointing out, which God, who heard and write the words, and who then interpreted those words and writing in turn translated by others. Doesn't it makes sense that first of all tales could just be tales, and secondly, tales are written using translations of someone else's oral words, thirdly, translations of those written words to other language can actually be misinterpretation. Lastly, there are no scientific proof of any god.

The Bible is the inerrant word of God, spoken to men, through His Holy Spirit. Which version? The one that says the only way to heaven is through the Son, Jesus Christ. That kind of narrows the list of Holy Bibles down to, well...all Christian versions.
