I think we should offer ways for illegal aliens to become legal instead of deportation. It is not unreasonable for putting restrictions on new immigrant such as where to live, or other requirements during a period of time. It is very difficult and a long time for legal immigration. Even if you are well educated and could make a good contribution.

There is tons of space (I think it was on the daily show that North Dakota has less people than a single riding in NY)

I think deportation should be used if the person is a criminal otherwise develop programs for people to earn their citizenship.

It''d cost billions of dollars to find and properly deport illegal aliens. And since our borders aren't secure, there's no assurance to keep illegal aliens from returning along with new illegals.

On the lighter side, illegal aliens help the US economy in some respects... hmm... being cheap/free labor for odd jobs that help out hotel/restaurant/retail/domestic industries thrive... i'm being a bit sarcastic... but it's a truth.

i think if a person wants to become an american citizen, that's great, however, they should do the proper paperwork and procedures, not just jump a fence and start enjoying all of our freedoms, that's not right for them to do that to us, what if we tried staying in their countries illegally? i'm sure they wouldn't be too happy about that now would they...

okay. how about an 18 y/o korean student who was brought here by her parents to flee from north korea. wold you deport her? is she a criminal?
Yes, the law is black and white. Illegal presence is illegal. But there is a human aspect to this too, and you can't just make a blanket deportation as if they were herds of cattles. We value human right and dignity here in the west. This is what differentiates countries such as the US and the UK from dictatorship regimes like Cuba, China or North Korea.
