We are getting married in Vegas, and will have friends and family coming to join us. I would like to find a nice place for everyone to get together after the wedding to eat, and was wondering about a good place for this. I am thinking either a restaurant, or even a nice buffet. I would like to keep my cost to about $20/per person (yeah, I'm cheap...I'm getting married in Vegas) and will have a party of about 30-40.

I'm pretty informal, and would like someplace "cool" versus some place fancy. Any recommendations on places to check with for a reservation?

Being cheap is different than thrifty...don't get married in vegas...that is cheap.

After getting engaged my fiance and I decided we wanted to do the Vegas thing. In October we went there to check out some chapels and see our options, and honestly it isn't that cheap. HOWEVER, compared to a normal ceremony and reception wherever you live, it's much cheaper.
Some of the nicer hotels do have great chapels, more then a few even. I would suggest going to the websites, and checking out their wedding package deals.
We stayed at the Stratosphere when we went and their buffet offers it's own "reception room", we saw a reception going on last time we were there. Treasure Island will also do this for you but they are more expensive and you don't get your own room.
Every hotel we checked with would not even consider us bring outside food in which would have cut costs because the hotel menu pricing are out of control.

I went to a wedding at the Flamingo in January, it was nice, they rented the bridal suite out and had everyone up to the room afterwards with snacks. That was fun, but we were all starving and the food didn't go far.

GOOD LUCK!

Getting married in Vegas is not cheap unless you're doing the whole "Britney Spears" thing!! I got married in Vegas 2 years ago, and I WAS CHEAP ABOUT IT!!! I didn't have a lavish wedding ceremony, I went to a little Chapel with my mom and dad present, and had a nice ceremony and partied after!! AFTER ALL.....WE WERE IN VEGAS!!!! The best advice I can give is look up places online. We stayed on Freemont Street (which was a GREAT experience) at the Golden Nugget, but when we went back this past summer we stayed at The Ventian. It all depends on where you are getting married and your taste. If you want some place "cool" ..........It will be as long as it reflects who you are!!!! That is what having a wedding is all about anyway!!!!

hi there - congratulations! You could have a cake and drinks reception organised by your chapel, or approach one of the cafes with a set budget and ask what they can do for you for the money.

Battistas Hole on the Wall (Italian) offers a set menu for not much more than $20 a head, and that includes drinks. Just remeber that you need to budget for sales tax of around 7.5% and a service charge of 20% (since it's a large party) wherever you go.

Also, try the website below that lets you search all the restaurants and cafes in Vegas with set menus by cost and cuisine.

Good luck - I hope you find what you want.

Why not do the buffett at the Golden Nugget, after a wedding ceremony at A Special Memory chapel. www.aspecialmemory.com They have great packages, including limo, and it's a 5 minute cab ride from the Golden Nugget for your guests. Downtown is so FUN! The Four Queens has quality, affordable rooms as well.

The Strip is fun, but Downtown has more of a party feel, in my opinion, and is much cheaper.

Good Luck!

Do not go to any of the major hotels for this because their food&beverage minimum is nowhere near $1000 - so Bellagio is out. Their budget span is expensive, more expensive, and ridiculous LOL. I was looking for my own wedding, so I have brochures and prices from EVERYONE.
I would try something off strip - maybe at one of the nicer restaurants that are around. Roy's has a private room, but I don't know what their F&B is. You may try one of the restaurants in one of the major hotels - like say Cannaletto at the Venetian, but again, I don't know their F&B. Try looking at price ranges on http://opentable.com and see what's available in your price range.
Good luck!

Bellagio is the very best. They have photographer, videographer, florist and catering on site, They have different pacakages for all budgets and differents reception halls.

Congrats and good luck
