hey girl, i'd say that you'd be better off with a henna dye, that you can find at any beauty supply store. it's cheap, and comes in all of the kool-aid colors.
i assume you want to use kool-aid for the color, or the cost...the above gives you a tip for good and alternative colors (blues, purples, greens, reds, etc.) but, if money is still an issue:
put the kool-aid into a disposable cup. mix in just a teaspoon-or-so of water, so that you have a paste. you want it to be in a paste so you can comb it in. you might need many packs to do your whole head, but just think that however much you need, you'll add just enough water to make it pasty.
add it to a comb, and comb it through clean, and most importantly DRY hair.
let it sit for 40 minutes, and voila.
one more tip -- for anyone that gives you a load of crap about dying your hair with kool-aid, keep in mind, it's better for your hair, it's better for the environment (henna also is natural, should you decide to buy), AND it's your head.

koolaid works better then dye especially when it comes to reds ... go with the koolaid its stains not just dyes and so it wont wash out so fast

The Kool Aid has staining properties on its own. Just add water and make it into paste. Then coat your hair. It takes a few washes to get it out.

DONT - Unless you want your hair to fall out. Try using the right type of dye - ACTUAL HAIR DYE. Keep Kool Aid in your glass, not your hair.
