I currently have a Persian named Zeus who is about a year. A few months ago I got another kitten, Leo. As Leo got older, Zeus started using the hallway for peeing occasionally. I got another litter box and everything was ok for about a week and a half, maybe two. Then, he started it again. They are both healthy, so I do not think it is a PH problem.... but, how would I fix it if it was? And, how do I fix the peeing in the hallway problem? Someone told me to sit his food where he's been going, but I don't know if this mommy is willing to be that unsanitary to fix any issue.

Is it only peeing?
If so, he may be marking or re-marking a spot he claims as his.
Zeus probably smells Leo's scent there.

For multiple cat households, you generally need one litter box per cat plus one extra. Also, if you have multiple floors in your house, you should have at least one litter box on each floor. And don't forget: it's essential that each litter box is cleaned every single day.

If a cat goes to the bathroom outside of the litter box, make sure to clean the area with an enzymatic cleaner. This will eliminate odors that we can't smell, but your cat can.

One solution is to put a litter box in the hallway where the cat has been going. If he starts using it there, you can slowly move it back where you want. Just nudge it a few inches a day in the right direction.

Your problem may be anxiety . I would check with the vet . I had the same problem the vet suggested i put the cat in a closet (I used a second bathroom, for a few days giving him food and water . I don't know if it will help because mine wouldn't be trained. I found these breeds are sensitive to change.
