I am currently in a major dilema in my life. I am a High School Senior with many interests, and that creates a problem for me because I have to know what to major in next year.

Interests:
Photography
Aviation
Music
Medical

For some reason, I have been feeling, (with the help of my parents, teachers, etc.) as if I am moving more toward the photography than anything else, which sort of scares me. I do not want to make a decision yet, but i know i have to soon. I am not too spectacular a pianist, but I am interested in being a pilot or a Doctor. How do I decide among all this? is there any way

btw, here's my website of photography

Photography and Music gives you a free life in a way. You have more time for yourself and others. Being in the Medical field and being an Aviator will take time from your personal life. So if you like being free to go to different place and do different things then choose either music or photography.....but if not choose the one of the other two.........my uncle is a photographer and goes to places people only dream about. So if that is what you really want to do, do it and don't look back!!!

I love your pictures!

You should do what ever you have the most passion for. That said, I have been a professional photographer for 23 years. I love it, but I got bored doing the same thing over and over. I went back to school and got a degree in Legal Studies. Now, I use my legal degree to pay the bills and my photography skills for enjoyment.

Believe it or not, I have been able to use my photography skills in my legal career too.

If I had to choose between your 4 options, I would definately choose something in the medical field (you don't have to be a doctor - there are many careers in the medical field). It will easily pay the bills and leave you with plenty of time and energy to enjoy your photography, music and aviation. BTW - the last three things I listed are all things you can do without having to do them for a living! You are very lucky to have these interests; you will be able to do ALL of the things you desire.

Remember, nothing is wasted. Whatever you choose, you will do well at. You have a lot of ambition for a high school senior.

Good luck!

It's not all about the money. Poverty builds character. A starving artist or a well to do Dr. who can afford any camera he wants and the funds to travel to the exotic locations to take photos...Of course being a pilot would permit travel, but military pilots usually get the better jobs as they've had training and experience.
Careers and hobbies are two different things. If you hate your job, it's better to hate it with a large bank account :) Hobbies then become the escape from the doldrums.
Only you can answer that one. Holgas are cheap and artistic though!

You do not have to lock in yet. I enrolled as a secondary education major and my soph. year I changed to accounting. Then I took Photo 101 with a friend, just for fun, and hey what did you know, I loved it. I then transferred to an art school and got a photo degree. Then I went back to school and picked up a graphic communications degree and a minor in psych. You can do anything and you do not have to decide today, or even this year. Relax a little. College is all about finding yourself, and you will.

O.O

Do what you want, but I think your photography is amazing! I love the one on the beach, the one with the rocks, that is a really interesting point of view, and the one with the clouds and hills at an angle, yet the road is straight! Why does that scare you?
