i know that God has put a LOT of people in this world. And the fact that some of them are shady is NO surprise to me, God spoke of those people in 2 Peter 2, and as those people exist, so do the people that God has truly ordained to do the work of God.
I trust someone Till they give me reason not to. and when the Gift of Discernment tells me when something is off, that would be God telling me who is really for him, and who is against him.
2 Peter 2:1 (Whole Chapter)
[ The Danger of False Teachers ] But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.

2 Peter 2:12 (Whole Chapter)
These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed.

There is a danger of looking to man rather than God - when all men raised up to be leaders in the church were raised up merely to be a produce sign, so to speak, pointing to the produce, saying that it's good, and encouraging people to partake of the produce. I've been victim of when a man of God raised up by God starts becoming self-serving and self-promoting - and great was the fall of that man's house as he left off obeying the Lord and started building his house on a very fragile foundation. I realized that had I not gotten caught up in the man's devices I'd have kept my eyes on the Lord, but, as it was, I started seeing the man idolizing himself and got swept up in the emotion of that and, therefore, became an idol worshipper. And so my house also suffered some damage.

But it was a lesson learned I never forgot. And I am vigilant about keeping myself from falling into that trap again - almost to the point of getting violent about it to a degree.

So, in that sense, no, I don't trust men of the cloth. However, if they are a servant of the Most High God, and they remain in that posture of servitude in the fear of the Lord, it is no problem to submit as the Bible instructs and give double honor where the Word of God says double honor is due.

I do not understand how anyone could trust them? why would you even put your children in a possible situation were they could be molested Is your religion that important to you? This has probably been going on for hundreds of years and will continue until something serious is done about it. After all this do people still leave their children alone with these people? I mean just one case of molestation appearing is bad enough and how many are there? hundreds, how many have there been through out history? millions? How many people are to scared to even tell anyone and have been living with it their whole life. This needs to stop. When I first learned of this and people were coming out and telling on them I thought finally an end to religion, but what do you know nothing has changed. I guess you really can get away with anything in the name of god.

Don't let a few bad guys ruin the reputation of great men of God. My preacher is a wonderful Godly man. I have known him for about 37 years, and I would trust him with my grandchildren. There are many good, honest and God-fearing preachers, teachers, deacons etc that are wonderful people.

let me say that the amount of sexual crime in this world is staggering, child prostitution, child porn to name but a few and 99.9% of this is commited in the secular world from one continent to the next and draws little attention and you have to wonder why this is!
the number of Priests and or Ministers is a small drop in the ocean in comparison and the newspapers and the media are on to it in a flash, now this type of human behavior is in all cases totally sick and perverted, but why isn`t the vast majority reported?
because the media knows full well that people can only take so much and this over reporting would soon become un-newsworthy
but a few Priests here and there guarantees instant attention and sells much better.

I trust myself, my family, my friends. I trust my teachers (most of them anyways) that taught me throughout school.

I don't trust anyone with high power in religion, government, etc. Politicians lie, religious leaders are just as bad as politicians (and some act like they are for another country within a country...), and if I don't know you, I don't trust you.

It's that simple.

I don't have to trust anyone other than the ones that affect my life directly. Except Politicians, but even they know that no one trusts them.

i do no longer fairly agree..... development down believe is a significant situation for me. through fact as quickly as believe has been shattered, the relationship is ended too. So, before I permit this believe being destroyed, I study heavily all parameters, all circumstances, all possibilities. i do no longer end relationships only in seconds. I supply credit, I take my time. no longer too plenty besides!!! yet, I attempt... And whilst ultimately I end that there is no desire, that the guy isn't truthful, I walk out the relationship without guilt in any respect, no stressful emotions. through fact i be attentive to I even have given all the possibilities conceivable and that they proved incorrect....

I forgive, but do not trust. I try to learn from my mistakes and that includes listening to a preacher that is probably a worse sinner then I'll ever will be. Nope, I forgive and move on to better things. Now it is me, the bible, and God...that works fine.

They haven't all done something wrong, just a select few. That doesn't mean that you should distrust all of them. They are good ones in all religions as there are also bad ones. However, it does make lots of people skeptical.

Yes I do. Christians are PEOPLE. . . And people make mistakes.
If teachers were having sex with children(wait a minute...they are), would that be a reason to not trust all teachers ?
