I'm thinking of making a sort of First Aid Kit for my 21st b-day in a few weeks. I've drank before, but not in quite a while; I plan to get quite wasted. Any suggestions of things I should include? I heard something about taking Vitamin B before you start drinking, and I'm sure Vitamin C and Aspirin would be a good idea, also. Any other suggestions?

If you plan on getting wasted then I suggest you plan for all possibilites, not just the inevitable hangover. Band Aids, the phone number of someone who'll bail you out of the drunk tank pinned to the inside of your jacket, your address to give to the cab driver at the end of the night (cuz I guarantee he won't be able to understand a word you say) and a designated non-drinker to tell you the next day what you did the night before! Good luck!

Awesome idea. I think you should also consider making "hangover first aid kits" for other peoples 21st birthdays- this a great, creative present...

Anyhow-
For your hangover first aid kit you need to be sure to include supplies to take care of the following problems: dehydration, blood sugar crash, vitamin deficiencies, nausea, and fatigue.

Dehydration:
pack water and a sports drink

blood sugar crash:
pack sugar-filled candy or fruit, such as berries

vitamin deficiencies:
Your body uses an enormous amount of vitamin C and vitamin B when trying to recover from alcohol overuse. Be sure to pack Vitamin C and a vitamin B complex. Try taking vitamin C and B both before AND after you drink

nausea:
Ginger tea [a great natural supplement to combat nausea], an over-the-counter nausea medication

Fatigue:
You just need more sleep. I do not know how to pack this into a hangover kit- but the reality is that when you drink too much you inhibit your deep sleep patterns and you end up less well rested.

I found a cool article on how to cure a hangover- this might give you some ideas on how to make a hangover first aid kit.

Hangover Kit For Him

Take two Ibuprofen with a full glass of water BEFORE you go to bed. Unless you've had way too much hard liquor (which I wouldn't recommend unless you want to be worshiping the porcelain God on your birthday), this generally PREVENTS hangovers. Hangovers are mainly caused by dehydration; drinking a good amount of water at the end of the evening really does help. Have fun and be safe!

Heres the deal...i do the same thing when drinking, i get prepared for the hangover.

-Before boozing, eat a large meal and drink a couple tall glasses of water
-After boozing and before bed take 2 tylenol pm's, and wash that down with water
-When you wake up, have a big gatorade by your bed and some regular tylenols. If your head hurts, take the tylenol. Regardless, you will have cotton mouth, so pound some of the gatorade and go back to bed. When you wake up again, you will feel fine, and you can have more gatorade and a dank breakfast.

there is a pill called a chaser that is supposed to keep you from being hungover. I don't know much about it, but some liquor stores sell it.

don't start drinking on an empty stomach. you have a better chance to throw up if you're on empty. the toilet is not where you want to be spending your night.

for the next day, sleep in and follow mary poppins advice: eat a spoonful of sugar with your asprin. the sugar has to do with carbs which affect your energy and head-ache. it seems to do the trick.

have a good birthday.

Alka Seltzer - an oldie but a goodie - hey if it's good enough for the Rat Pack .... Works like a charm. Also drink loads of water while drinking and before passing out if you can! Happy B-DAY!

best thing to have is a friend who will take you straight back down the pub and a bottle of martini rosso by the bed to get you out the door. Failing that if you're totally incapable of more alcohol, a packet of wotsits and a can of Dr Pepper (lot's of dodgy additives, caffeine and sugar!). Kill or cure for sure.

they have hangover remedies now that you can take before you go to bed, & ones that you can take before you start drinking. You can get them at Walgreens or CVS or any drugstore. Gatorade always helps me feel better~along withg coffee & a big greasy breakfast the next morning!
Happy 21st!
Party like a rockstar!
