How do I cook a T-bone steaks so it comes out tender? Some people said to cook them under a broiler but my oven doesn't have one.

This is gonna sound a bit strange but it really does work:Marinate it in Coca cola for an hour before you cook and then fry it over medium low heat til it is cooked to the desired temperature. It will be extremely tender.

This depends on the thickness of the steak. Make sure that you have a good piece of meat to start with. For thicknesses 3/4" and over, I would marinate the steak before grilling it on a slow grill if you like well done or a fast grill for medium or rare.
My favorite way to cook a T-bone steak is to do it like my Grandmother used to do. She would have the steaks cut to about 1/2" thick. She would salt and pepper the steak well. Take a skillet with a good lid and pour vegetable oil to about 1/2" deep. Heat the oil until it begins to bubble. Carefully place the steak into the skillet and cook on each side for about a minute. When the steak has browned on both sides, cut the heat down to low and simmer until it is done turning it at least once every 5 minutes. When the steak is done, remove it from the oil, place on a blanket of paper towels and blot away the excess oil. Wrap the steak in foil to retain heat until serving time. To set it off, make a big pan of cream gravy from the drippings. YUM YUM

wash your steaks in cold water then use a good meat tenderize powder. put your other seasonings you want on next. (on both sides of the steak) if possible you can even apply the tenderizer a few hours before you plan to cook the steaks and let the set in the fridge to marinate. do not poke holes in the steaks to tenderize them. this allows all the juices to escape with makes them dry and tough. if you cant cook them fast under a broiler then i recommend cooking them slow. maybe at about 400 degrees for an hour or so. I would cook them in a pan covered with aluminum foil until they are done, then sear them in a skillet afterward to brown the outsides of them. I use meat tenderizer, seasoned salt, garlic and blace pepper on my steaks.

Good Luck, I hope this helps.

You need to cover the outside in sea salt (Maldon, if you have it in the States), and place in to a hot frying pan (with a little hot olive oil in the bottom, so the meat doesn't stick).
Quickly sear the steak on both sides (so the meat goes grayish in colour) - this allows the juices to stay inside the meat, and then brown on both sides.

first liberally coat it with season salt then stab it all over with a fork on both sides.Smear it with yellow mustard and butter and pan fry on hi heat with a little oil so it wont stick. It's done as soon as you get it good and brown on both sides. Don't over cook it you want it still red/pink in side.
