I raise them and have a litter right now. I have a vet that says he has seen a few make it to 20 years old. I have never seen them live that long myself, but normally 10-15 years.

I dont see how they would be any different than any other dog. Most dog's live about 10 years, depending on how you take care of them or there own breeds health issues. Do some research on the net about the breed.

But my friend had a sheltie mix that is 18 yrs. It is great that she has lived that long but she is having alot of problems and I think it is better that the dog is not so old then they need alot more care.

Around for 12-16 years. It really all depends on how you feed and care for the dog. Also, the type of breeder that you get one from can make a difference in the longterm health and life span of your dog.

12-14 but my moms sheltie did from unknown causes at 10. She lost control of her bowels and then started seizuring and had a stroke all in one night. We put her down that night.
