Above website is from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) in the US. My personal view is that if you are healthy, then the occassional illness is ok, helps you develop your immune system. If you have a compromised immune system it might be a good idea to protect yourself.
Of course everyone will react differently to the shots. Some will tolerate it and it will eb very effective, others will get ill or not convert and not be protected.

I get the flu shot every year. We get ours free at work, but then they pretty much have to provide it for us if they want us to take care of patients who have the flu. I have never gotten sick from a flu shot and do recommend them for people who have any chronic illnesses or the old and young amongst us who are the most susceptible to the flu. For some people the flu can be deadly. It is more than just a nuisance for some of us. You can't catch the flu from a shot. If you rub the injection site for a few minutes after getting the shot, it won't get sore. Rubbing it helps the fluid in the injection to spread out better in the tissue rather than just lumping it in one spot. The flu shot is well worth the cost.
Of course, if you're allergic to eggs then the flu shot isn't for you.

Apparently, you have never had the flu. Get the shot, honey, cause it's just not worth getting sick. Flu vaccine is not made with live virus; the vaccine given each year is changed by the CDC, never twice in a row; natural alternatives do not prevent flu. The only concern might be if you are allergic to eggs as eggs are used to incubate the culture. Godloveya.

Got mine today, my arm hurts from it but it is worth it. My daughters doctor said everyone that comes into my house this year MUST have a flu shot. She is has a tracheostomy and a ventilator and he wants to keep as many germs away from her as possible, as do I.

I had one once and it was the one winter when I had the worst flu attack in my life. It breaks down your immune system as far as my experience go.

Before I had one, I had questions, but I've had them several times now, and so have my children. It's up to you. We have had no problems.
