signs he wont be scared if i tell him i love him?

Question

I want to tell my boyfriend of 5 months that i love him, but i know that he can be skitterish around moving quickly because of some past pain.
I know that he cares for me, but i don't want to tell him how i feel only to scare him when i could hold it in for a bit.
Any signs that i could look for to know that he's ready to hear it?

Before someone says something like 'if he looks at you a lot in class' we are not in highschool we are both in our mid 20's.

He's your boyfriend, why be afraid? Isn't the reason your with another person is because you love them?

I bet he's dying to hear it from you.

cant believe i'm answering this i have so much work...but about less than 5 mins ago i just told my bf i loved him
i feel good n bad at the same time (lord i hope he never reads this)

okay he was hurt real bad by his last girl and says he could never tell any1 he loves em ever again....
but he says he can show it....and he's always like "i dont have to say it to show it n you kno"
so its like he's saying it....lawsh we are complicated tho....cuz..ahh never mind the story....but to answer ur question dont spring it on him unless its in a text or so n u dont have to see his reaction.....like just let it lead to that in a convo...cuz i'm sure i'm worst than ur bf// i fear that word love bad....n it scary when sumone says it b4 ur ready to say it back...but if u feel it...just talk 2 him like this ...say "i've been thinkin bout my feeling 4 u and they are getting deep....you want to talk bout it?"...k good luck...oh i'm happy ur in love...tho love sumtimes sucks
