O.k. is it normal for a bowel movement to come once every other week...My back hurts, I look fat, and I feel like throwing up when this happens....Then it's all over when it leaves...My body really don't tell me I need to go so it makes me feel that way...should I take laxatives to help regulate me...This question is too embarrasing to ask a DR.

when i was in highschool, and i just started this exercise routine, i was getting hella stronger every week. and i would have a bm sometimes once a week, sometimes not for two weeks (no discomfort, though.). as time went on, it went back to every 4 or so days, now i'm back to every day. really though, if you ask a doctor, they're bound to have heard about stuff a LOT more embarrassing than this.

You should try increasing the water you drink and taking fiber supplements if that doesn't work then try that yogert Activia. It works great for me. You should not go more than three days without bm and you should consult your doctor if the above doesn't work. Meanwhile while while you are waiting to see him take laxative like milk of magnesium on 3rd day of no bm. Exercise increases parastalisis of your bowell which means it increases the muscle spasms that cause bm's. This can be a symptom of a more serious illness such as cancer so if the only way you go is laxatives you should see your doctor as soon as possible they also have that med for iritable bowell with constipation available with perscription now.

Definitely not normal. Laxatives aren't a horrible idea - but I'd try just a stool softener at first. A laxative could give you diarrhea and that will dehydrate you - which isn't good either. Sometimes I drink caffeinated coffee (its a stimulant) that helps me to go. But you should really be concerned if this problem persists for too long - all that backed up waste can become toxic and poison your blood stream. Try a few over the counter remedies at first, but if you don't see results in a few days see a doctor quickly! Take care of your temple :)

This is the perfect question for a dr. Don't be embarrassed, Dr.s have heard it all! I once had a patient tell me they had stools like motor oil... Truly, you can't offend a Dr.
That said, no, your habits are not normal. BM's can occur as frequently as once or twice a day, but shouldn't be less frequent than once every 3 days.
There are oodles of reasons why you could be experiencing this sort of "back-up". Go see your MD, and once you say it, you will feel so relieved. It's better to know, than not. You can develop serious (and more gross) problems if you leave the problem alone.
Good luck to you!

No you're supposed to have a bowel movement about once a day. You can buy fiber pills at most places and they make you regular. Either that or just eat more fiber and make sure you drink enough.

No, you might try adding a fiber supplement to increase the available matter to move your bowels, and maybe a stool softener (try to stay away from a full laxative if you can).

Milk of magnesia. It will clear you out and get you on a regular schedule. I can't believe every other week, i feel like i need to have a bowel movement every few hours! Maybe that is why i lost all that weight, i regulate now!

No. You should have a bowel movement (BM) every day to every three days. It sounds like you're constipated.
You could take laxatives, but you may also try to eat peaches and/or prunes. Right now you're bloated.

Either constapated or some blockage. Should have taken a laxitive awhile ago if you said that you have a movement "once a week" At this point you should deffinately see a doctor. Don't freak out, your not going to die but its something you need to do.

my mom had a problem something like that and her doctor told her to take fiber pills until her bowels start moving on their own, laxatives should have never been invented because they can tear up your insides.
