Christians: Is this true about talking to angels and demons?

I just read something a Christian put as an answer to a question on here. I found it kind of odd, as I had never heard it before. I really want to know if this is a common belief.

If you have something talking to you (for instance, a black labrador), you should ask it to say "Jesus is Lord".

If it says it, it's an angel. If it doesn't, it's a demon, because "demons can't say that."

Is this really true??? Not meaning to offend, just very curious!

No. This is a common misconception, though, which was taken advantage of by numerous false 'psychic' mediums. They said that in order to confirm to the mark that they were 'of God'. Of course, that didn't work when the contacee realized that their dearly departed wasn't a Christian!
Demons are perfectly capable of saying ANYTHING in order to deceive us, even saying 'Jesus is Lord'. They just don't mean it.

I am thankful you are curious and willing to ask questions. Whoever wrote that about a dog saying "Jesus is Lord", and the dog being an angel was mistaken.
As far as angels, here is what the Bible teaches. The Bible clearly teaches that angels are real, and they constantly work in unseen ways on behalf of God's children. The Bible says, "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" (Hebrews 1:14).

But the Bible also clearly teaches that we aren't to worship angels or pray to them. After God used an angel to reveal to the apostle John what was going to happen in the future, John's first reaction was to fall down and worship the angel. The angel, however, immediately rebuked him: "But he said to me, 'Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets. ... Worship God!'" (Revelation 22:9).

Why shouldn't we worship angels? The main reason is because only God is worthy of our worship, and nothing else must be allowed to take His place. Jesus said (quoting the Old Testament), "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only" (Matthew 4:10). Angels were created by God (just as we were), and only our Creator is worthy of our adoration.

We also aren't to pray to angels—and we don't need to! Jesus Christ has opened heaven's door to us, and we have direct access to the Father through Him (see Hebrews 4:14-16). Put your trust and faith in Christ alone for your salvation, for He alone is God's appointed Savior.

That is completely ridiculous. First off, if a dog is talking to you it means you should stop drinking. Secondly, if you do believe in nonsense like demons then it is completely possible for them to say anything they want. There are no rules when lying to someone stupid.

What an odd question.

All I can tell you is demons do speak to people and those people think its other spirits- for example, those that say they talk to dead people- they are not speaking to dead people, demons are feeding them this info so that the world will believe....

We can meet angels in disguise definately....
