I think illegals should go if they have committed a crime, but crime also includes using fradulent documents or stealing other people's documents to work or get housing, voter fraud, etc.
We should secure the border once and for all so that we do not have to do this again in 20 more years. I think we can work out a guestworker program with some serious changes and enforcements to our laws.
1) If you have worked here illegally but paid taxes through TIN, have a good work history, no criminal record, are in good health, speak English, have no outstanding medical bills, and pay a reasonable fine you can be eligible for the guest program
2) Good guests go home, and if you do not, you will be deported and not be eligible again. Zero tolerance.
3) No more anchor babies, children are gifts and not leverage. Using them for citizenship is exploitation.
4) Guestworkers must be able to have health insurance provided by the workplace, a special license(so they know our driving laws), and insurance for the car if they choose to drive.
5) All jobs must be offered to American workers BEFORE a guestworker is eligible to apply for them. If there is no American that applies, only then may a guestworker apply. They must receive the same wage and conditions as Americans.
6) Employers should be fined $40,000 for the first offense of hiring an illegal or a non-guestworker. If that offense also includes sub-human living or working conditions, then jail time should also be given.

Hell maybe I have the wrong idea. Maybe if I crossed the Mexican border "ILLEGALLY" and got down to Cabo San Lucas, the Mexican people and government would accept me with open arms. Maybe they would pay for my children's education, pay for my family's medical services, pay for my housing, and pay me to sit on the beach drinking cervazas while working renting out jet skis and boat rides for cash (pesos) under the table. How is coming into this country illegally NOT breaking the law?

If you do not think they are draining money from this country do some research on the costs of: desert rescues, anchor babies, medical care, costs of keeping them in prison, educating their children, and on and on. The vast majority of illegals that hold jobs are being paid cash under the table or using a fake SS number therefore they are NOT paying taxes except for sales tax. And they send MILLIONS of $$ every year back down to Mexico instead of spending it here to help the local economy.

Here in Tucson we have had ALL of our trauma centers closed due to not getting reimbersed for the medical expenses of illegal aliens.

I am not a racist. I have no problem with LEGAL immigration.
